At age 72 Gardening works well for me. The walking, bending, lifting pots, twisting and turning in the bushes, reaching, trimming the trees bending, it truly keeps me fit. Just being outside, enjoying the morning, holding and dragging the water hose and pots. I look and feel young, it relieves stress and makes me happy to see such a beautiful garden that God and I created. I look and feel 10 ten to 15 years younger than my age.

The simple act of walking should never be taken for granted, as I can now confirm personally. I became weak after a prolonged bout of stressful circumstances that I could do nothing to change, a bout of flu followed and a diagnosis of hypothyroidism; and gradually it became difficult to walk up and down stairs, get in or out of my car, go shopping, walk the dog etc. this onset of muscle weakness, joint pain and extreme exhaustion has been resolved with high dose vitamins/minerals and low dose steroids, coupled with a no carbohydrate, low dairy diet, and thyroxine. But, working up from 5 mins to15 minutes on a rowing machine has really helped restore my muscle strength, and agility. Back to normal now and have lost a stone in a month. I will never forget that feeling of fear that loss of mobility produced and now I love to walk. It shocked me how quickly you can loose mobility and equally surprised me at how quickly it can return. Thank God!

I can relate. I am on pain meds and they allow me to be active. Last summer I started including backwards walking into my walk. It brings bloodflow to those ligaments and tiney muscle areas that regular walking does not touch. Within three days I had no more knee or hip pain and could sleep again at night. It was a big deal for me. I just finished my walk and am going to jump on my rebounder now for awhile for my lymphatic system. I keep coming across things that get me feeling better. I will be 71 in a few months. I walk on my local middle school's track because it is soft ground aand not concrete. Start small .

Completely agree on the effects of walking for major depressive disorder. Walking every a.m. in the early a.m. light is a big part of my life now. I once ended up hospitalized (in 2004) for MDD during a stressful time in my life (also, was menopausal, and my older son had joined the Navy Seals, my younger son went off to Univ in eastern U.S. - I had left a job shortly before that, got another job for a year, then was laid off) - all of these lifestyle factors ganged up on me and I became majorly, hopelessly depressed, had a psychotic break, ended up catatonic in the hospital! It was only ECT that helped me to recover. I Did great for 13 years when I had my beautiful GSD that I enjoyed many years of training & dog sport competitions with and, of course dog WALKS every day, from early a.m., to late evening - for over 13 years. Two years ago I lost my beautiful dog. Grief & sedentary lifestyle ganged up on me. I've managed to hold major depression at bay - stayed out of the hosp. this time, but it's been quite a struggle trying to maintain my mental health. These days, my morning WALK - actully it's somewhat of a 2 mile semi-hike over a series of ridges in lemon orchards in my neighborhood (the rows of trees are elevated a bit on packed- earth ridges about 12"-18" high - so I'm up & down traversing over about 125 of those ridges every morning. Also taking SAMe for depression, meditating - eating Mediterranean style, intermittent fasting, doing HIIT & weight resistence - sleep hygeine... the whole bit. But I really think that out of all these lifestyle changes - it's my 2 mile mini hikes every a.m. OUTSIDE in the early morning light that has pulled me back from the spiraling depression I felt myself pulled into ever since my dog passed. I'm having crap dreams, though!🤯 Dreams of abandonment and rejection...don't know why. Tales me awhile to get out of a FUNK nearly every morning, just recovering from my dreams. I have to lecture myself every nearly every morning to disregard these dreams, they do not mean anyone is rejecting me - They are only meaningless dreams🙄 If anyone has a suggestion about how to switch from nasty to happy dreams, (that has read THIS far😅) I would surely appreciate it!😊 Oh! And I've been doing Wim Hoff guided breathing exercises every morning for about 6 weeks. very energizing! And just three days ago, I finally got up the gumption to take cold showers😱. OMG...it is punishing, but absolutely true that once you step out of that shower you feel strong, ALIVE, and like you can accomplish anything!

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzbin.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

I’m needing to hear this. I have a concussion for the past five years and one of the things that’s been frustrating. It is all I have gotten a number of serious injuries in my ankles and feet since the concussion and so you know what are you do when you have a foot injury you have to rest your foot and so it’s been really hard but I did take a piano for a few years and I am now taking up watercolor I do take voice, but that’s because it helps me to be able to speak because my concussion affected my speech as well. I was speaking wrong and it was damaging my vocal cords, but yes, absolutely don’t let your conditions limit users many things that we can’t do but there’s almost always an unlimited number of things that we can do early in my concussion when I was having very bad vision problems, and I taught myself to write with a glass near the pen and I would always dip the pen into a different color so that the ink changed color as I rode and that really helped re-develop my visual processing ability

That must be Jaffreys Sports Club track in Lavington, Nairobi. My former suburb when I lived in Nairobi. It is also a beautiful Cricket Sports club. Generally, Nairobi is known as the green City under the sun, though it is mostly congested these days with lots of high rise buildings and little open spaces for walking. The roads aren't also designed with walking tracks and where they are, the notorious public transport taxis/matatus drive pedestrians off these tracks. Hence Jaffreys grounds is such a treasure. :p I walk daily again. I had taken a break for a couple or so months. Around an hour a day for me. That, coupled with fasting, herbs, yoga, meditation, brainwave entrainment, acupressure, breathwork, drawing, reading articles, recording audio in messaging apps for others to hear, writing in Medium and whatnot have you, learning new ways to make money, proper sleep, supplements, proper hydration, etc. ^_^

Sir, I love your show. What i found interesting, apart from all the fantastic main content, is that talking ratio with the women in the show was much higher than with the men. You should look into it, it might be a classic men difficulty :) thanks for all your work, pls understand this comment as constructive feedback.

Thank you for making these videos, Also, am I the only one who feels Dr Rangan would look more comfortable to listen to if he makes a better eye contact, he looks a lot of times to the side.

Darwin was a big fan of treading his "thinking path". He created his own path through life despite the pressures of his father, society and teachers. His theories rocked the world. In lockdown I walked the local path again and again until my life began to change in ways I would never would have guessed.

Darwin's nineteenth-century creation myth has been thoroughly discredited through 21st century knowledge. #intelligentdesign

How to pronounce "estrogen": kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJCvnZeQpcxgq9U PS: I think most of Dr. Chatterjee's advice is sound. Now if only he could get over his habit of condensing five minutes of sound advice into two hours flat.
