Somebody did a bit of research on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, ( TDCJ ), history I see. The building tender program,(if you could call it a program), ended around 1985. As a cost saving measure, the state of Texas would still be using that system if they could get away with it. You did a great job weaving the fictional elements together in with the historical elements.

Well top marks to Jrubas for knocking this one out of the park! Definitely interesting, and such a prison system as I have most certainly never heard of. But hey, that’s exactly what more than likely drew the alien’s attention to sending that rock there. The fact that so many of the peoples walked freely, yet were still contained to a degree. Smart. I will comment that spending 10 years inside a government facility for constant testing is a bit much, but how long was his initial sentence? And $1000 per month? Damn guys, help the guy out! He’d be better off back in there! Aside from that the story was really interesting and definitely enjoyable. I love a good fiction, and once you’ve added alien spores and prisoners to the mix, well that’s a recipe for an outstanding adventure! Thanks to Dr Creepen for not only choosing this one, but for putting in the work and taking the time for such a long journey. I know that you really wanted to hit that 2 hour mark on the dot, and you could’ve, but I also know that by the time you were near it, you had to be exhausted. So you get a pass today. All in all excellent work gentleman! And I look forward to the next chapter!! 👏👏👏👏

it wasn’t until the steel wool that the madness of the situation really came through to me. Because, really, orgies of violence just aren’t that unusual. Uncommon sure but not unknown. Not really surprising, as it’s a thing we(humans) do sometimes. But that scene. THAT was creepy. Never read anything like that before. Not self inflicted anyway. Chills. Very good writing.

Really loved the character development in the beginning of the story. Kind of fell apart for me when those great characters suddenly were killed off (see The Walking Dead) and new characters were just shoe-horned in. You go through 2/3 of the story thinking that the narrator of the story was the protagonist, only to realize that the real protagonist is someone who just shows up at the gate. Nice story nonetheless, but it feels like these days the tales aren't told from the perspective of Luke Skywalker, but from the Jawa on Tatooine who sold him A2D2.
