I'm "binge watching" your videos, Dr. Cywes, only having discovered them this afternoon. In just the roughly 50 minutes I've watched so far, you've clarified a multitude of issues I've been experiencing while being on the keto diet. I've only been on it for nine weeks, after a lifetime (67 years) of the S.A.D., but while I've lost weight (47 pounds, with a lot more to lose) and my a1c has dropped 3 points, down to a far better 5.9, I've also begun to experience a huge amount of pain, as if all the inflammation of arthritis has flared up once more. NOW I understand---even though I've been eating very low carb, I haven't been eating much in the way of meat, and I really, really, REALLY "LIKE-LIKE" meat a lot (like-like is a former coworker's way of saying "love" without overusing that word)! As of right now, I'm going to watch everything you have posted on YT, but having watched the one regarding carnivore eating, I'm first going to have a very large hamburger steak (my favorite "cut" of beef). I eat only OMAD, just preferring it, and right now is meal time, so I'm off for that, then more of your highly informative videos.

Dr Cywes, thanks for the great explanation of autophagy. Your talks are changing lives! Mine included. I've survived cancer, various autoimmune itis's, hashimotos and an ongoing neurological diagnosis. I'm over six months into keto and intermittent fasting and having great success. I'm no longer obese or hungry all the time! I am hopeful for some healing from my many decades of carb addiction and inflamation ignorance. I am a realist but I'd love to surprise my neurologist. This video really speaks to me. I've requested the C-Reactive Protein yearly for the last 16 years . I say that because my doctor feels the test is not a useful tool or does not know what to do with it. Over the years, its increased from 4.1 to last years high of 15. This year it was 12.5, but it was due to cutting ny carbs to between 5-15 grams/day and losing over 100 lbs. I assume lowering the number is a slow process, so I will continue getting the test until it is normal. I have always felt that inflammation is at the root of most diseases. Thanks, Dr. Cywes for breaking it down in layman's terms.

Here's my question: why don't doctors know this or act like they know all of this? If they're taught this information do they forget? Do they get so wound up in feeding people medicine for pain they forget there are actually ways to help people? I can't imagine that all of them are these money hungry entities trying to tell people the wrong info just to get paid back by a pharmacy or insurance company or have forever patients. Mine included. She seems like a really decent person but all of these ideas just seem foreign to her and I know she means well.

Nice to know I have little vacuum cleaners and soldiers swimming around my body. I do like a a clean house, now I know if I eat "healthy" I can have a clean internal body. Thanks for the great biology lesson. It's all about staying in "gentle vibration," instead of in disruptive inflammatory storms. I do not want to chew myself up without realizing it. Please talk about how long it takes to reverse insulin resistance. How do you know you are becoming metabolically healthy. How do we measure progress? My fasting insulin is still high after being in nutritional ketosis for over 6 months. Thanks again!!!!

Anything you eat/ingest can lead to inflammation... I know... I found I am sensitive to fillers used in VITAMINS! Leading to inflammation and migraines. Wow. The best approach has been Mikhaila Petersons Lion diet (Red meat, salt and water) as a 30-60 day "cleanse". And then practice adding things back in. I have to be careful with pork (and it's my favorite, especially bacon and sausage). Good luck to you.

Read labels, you must read labels and reject foods where inflammatory poisons have been added in by the manufacturer eg; sugar and polyunsaturated fats are almost always sneaked in with naturally occurring saturated fats, peanut butter and mayonnaise for instance. Prepared, canned or jarred foods labelled 'organic' are just as much a minefield.
