For all of those wondering if he actually cried...you have to consider his internet persona is a heel (he's meant to get on people's nerves). Compounding his persona he also plays video games for a living so there is a lot of hate out there for what he does. As is often the case, his reputation precedes him so I wouldn't doubt that his interactions with the community are often negative. These "face to face" interactions with the community are what leave the most lasting impressions (even more so for the negative ones) and when you are somebody who spends as much time and effort on something it can take its toll. I would say that this was almost certainly an authentic reaction from him. He was communicating with a player who knew who clearly knew about his character but wasn't acting as if they were sure if it was actually him. What made him get so emotional was when he presented the player with this common perception of him being somebody that get on their nerves and the player responded with a definitive "not for me man, I love um". The subtlety of a player saying they enjoyed what he does regardless of what other people (including himself in this case) think and the use of the word "love" which although it doesn't have the same intended meaning, is a word which is socially ingrained as a powerful word, is what triggered the reaction. Also, although subtle, the players voice became louder and more clear when he made the statement making it seem like all the more definitive to them. Although I am not personally a fan of him, this has completely altered my perception of him as a person beyond the character he portrays.

Not to be "that guy", but it's not method acting technically. That's when someone spends hours off camera living as their character. Guy spends a lot of hours acting as a character weekly, monthly, yearly on camera streaming. It's kind of amazing to think when watching twitch streamers we watch people play the game and anything remotely funny is seen as a bonus, whereas with the DrDisRespect it's funny throughout. We can philosophize all day about why he broke up a little there, but at the end of the day only he can know the real reason.
