Okay so the way that damage ticks work is that obviously you can only pop once per damage tick, however there is an exception and this might’ve been what happened here. Whenever you are red (damage tick) you are invulnerable to any sort of damage that is less than the source of the damage that initially made you red. For example, if I hit an iron golem with an iron sword, while it is red, anything that does less damage than an iron sword won’t do any damage, but anything higher than it will deal proper damage. This can lead to multiple totems popping simultaneously. If the source of the damage tick is a pearl or sword pop, then a crystal (which obviously does a lot more damage) is blown up directly next to the person, they will pop twice almost simultaneously. In this scenario, I believe what happened was: drdonut pops to the pearl/sword, then a crystal damages him in that damage tick, and does enough damage to pop him again. The damage tick then ends and default kills him with another crystal.

this is incorrect, you cannot ever pop twice in 1 damage tick. Otherwise when people spam crystals under people's feet, you'd probably see people spam pop many times

See, the sword was able to pop you because you were at half a heart, and because the crystal does more damage it also was able to do its damage resulting in another pop in the same damage tick. Then because the second crystal was at the end of that first damage tick, the next crystal was in the next damage tick and was able to get the final blow. The reason crystalling under someone's feet doesn't pop them repeatedly is because the crystals all do the same damage therefore only one pop can happen per damage tick in the scenario you brought up.

its because if a source of damage is greater than another source of damage in the same damage tick the greater damage still does damage (Overlays the lesser damage kind of)
