Yesss! And I layer like mad, too. I bought recent ones she mentioned, so I have a little sunscreen organizer. I lost track of how many I have now. Now my goal is to get my daughter addicted to sunscreen. She uses a lower SPF one with fragrance. I will introduce her to the Aveeno Ultra-Calming. The Sheer Zinc is awesome, too. I spent an hour in CVS. 👍🏻 Off to use my Aveeno Cica masks! 😗🌸

As a retired nurse and mother of three we were raised on the notion that sun ☀️ was good for you. My mom would always tell us in the late fifties/early sixties to go outside and get some sunshine as it was good for you to exhibit a nice healthy tan. It was sort of ingrained in us. You have really helped show me the error of my ways, as I was guilty of same advice to my own children. My two very fair skinned grandchildren wear sunscreen all the time even in cold, ⛅️ cloudy weather. Cute to see the little ones slather lotion/cream on themselves before they go to school or just go outside anywhere in general. I think it’s important that we teach our little ones at a young age 🧴. The more I learn from you, the more I pass it on to them and other family and friends. Thank you for helping to turn things around! You are a wonderful mentor and role model. I adore your Mom and puppy 🐶 also. 💕☮️ Cathy

I am a Trader Joe regular. While in Trader Joe's, I have seen so many women throw in their baskets, looking at their phones, the TJ skin products. I also feel that TJ's has amped things up in the skin department, in the last year...many more products now available. All I can think of presently, is how these women consumers (and men) need to check out this DD review and then decide on what they should give a shot too. And my bet is, I will find someone on their smart phone sometime in the near future checking the Doctor's info, before buying. Very Helpful review!!! I now use my Neutrogena Hydro Boost correctly, with a moisturizer after, who knew? I learned this many, many vlogs back. Always take a ways.

Can you please do a video all about Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide percentages in sunscreens? I know that you briefly talked about this in your Sunscreen Q&A, but I still see TONS of videos on KZbin where these channels are making a huge deal about this... so much so, that they will completely disregard certain sunscreens for not having a high percentage of these active ingredients. Claiming it couldn't possibly be SPF30, 50, etc. because the % is so low... Please, break the myth on all this fear mongering bs!!

That probably wouldn’t be a broad enough topic. Dr Dray (MD & PhD) says not to worry about those percentages as it is reflective of that sunscreen’s formulation, compared to the other ingredients in that product, and is not a valid data point for evaluating sunscreens. It doesn’t represent how effective that sunscreen is at protecting you from UV radiation. Those other YTers are just plain wrong and you shouldn’t listen to them for skincare advice.
@happydayz7857
@happydayz7857 5 жыл бұрын
J T so it’s not like they’re giving you a percent if your daily recommended dose. They’re just saying what portion of the formula is a sunscreen vs emulsifiers, absorption enhancers, etc. That’s not very helpful. I wonder how many people misinterpret those percentages.
@foreveryoung548
@foreveryoung548 5 жыл бұрын
@@jt8142 I disagree. It is an absolutely valid and broad topic to speak about. Just look at how many misinformed people are still out there, and it doesn't end with just KZbin. There are many articles written online when searching for this topic. I'm not expecting a 30 min video like this one, but just a quick PSA to help stop with all the confusion and paranoia, and to help save $$$. Some of the sunscreen recommendations I've seen are ludicrous!

I am in desperate need of advice after suffering through a near 2-hour facial with a “dermatologist” who attacked my face. There were several red flags that came up before the extractions (namely, coating the most sensitive areas of my face in a salicylic and lactic acid solution (who knows what else was in there - she didn’t say anything when she put it on so I had to ask what it was), then 20 seconds later harshly scrubbing down my entire face with a gritty exfoliant), but after an hour of her digging into my skin with lances and tweezers and attempting to squeeze out deep, painful cysts that clearly weren’t going anywhere, her recommendation that I make a DIY mask with turmeric, honey, and LEMON JUICE broke me. I had to lie there fighting back tears, questioning this woman’s credentials and wondering whether she had completely ruined my skin, as she scraped off the blood, etc with a rough washcloth, put on an oxygen mask to “speed recovery” (BS), recommended that I put retinol directly on the bleeding and scabbing spots to aid in healing, and then sent me out into broad daylight with freshly traumatized skin and no SPF. How can I prevent further damage to my skin? I know that certain ingredients and techniques in the hands of experts can be more potent/aggressive and not cause harm, but I do not trust this woman.

Appreciate the TJ's review. I shop at TJ's weekly and the gel moisturizer, facial moisturizer and the Midsummer night's Cream sound worth trying. Will use my Cerave PM on top of the moisturizers. I just bought TJ's hair mask in a tube and will try it tomorrow. Hugs....Sherry

Thank you for all of your informative videos! I was wondering if I want to use the salicylic acid cleanser but also need to remove my makeup. Would you suggest doing the cleansing oil, gentle cleanser, humectant and moisterizer at night then the cerva sa cleanser in the morning? Or do it alfter the gentale cleanser at night? Trying to figure out the appropriate order.

Thank you for reviewing Trader Joe's products. I have tried a few. The hydrating gel with aloe and green tea burns my face a little bit. I have rosacea. The facial cleansing soap doesn't. But the face and body sunscreen does. I just got the serum too bad I didn't see your video first. The aloe gel didn't burn my face at first until I mixed it with a lotion. So based on your video I see why that happened.

Hyauloronic acid I found that helped as a primer for my makeup and I did find it helped my skin in combination with everything else I used. I did use 3 other products at one point while using it but I also have used it after just cleansing my skin and the results continued to be the same so in my opinion it helped me in some type of way Btw this was for 2 months of usage

Thanks for the heads-up on Benzyl Alcohol! I did not know it was the same thing as fragrance. Will avoid this aloe gel product. :-( Very interested in the moisturizing gel though....will maybe give that a try! :-) So true about the myriad of skincare/cosmetic products on the market that contain questionable ingredients that irritate the skin. However, after binge watching your channel several months ago, I can now walk through any skincare aisle and have a whole new perspective. Yesterday while at Kroger, I was reading an ingredient label on a facial cleanser and a store employee came up to me and joked about the fact that I was reading it. I told him it's better than playing Russian roulette and end up with a red, itchy face! Happy Tuesday!

ANTI-AGING TIP: 4:37 Do NOT rub back and forth or up and down!!!!!! Treat the skin around your eyes like you would flower petals = only using gentle dabs (rubbing back and forth will eventually cause bags). For the rest of the face, especially the neck, use gentle upward strokes to fight gravity (rubbing downward or in a circle will cause sagging). I learned this at a Mary Kay party when I was a teenager. Decades later, I have few wrinkles or sagging skin. People often say I look 10+ years younger.

gma-coolibar.com Not sure they have what you want - but dresses tunics shirts swim wear hats. My sis in law told me that Dillard’s, a department store in CO also has good sales on Coolibar during their seasonal sales so you might want to check and see if any stores have it in your area and watch - that’s what I’m going to do as the one thing I bought from them doesn’t fit my body too well - but not bad enough to return. This way you can try on and return without any hassles. this sale is good though if you know what fits you. Some items 70% or more off. I usually remember to follow the deals so if it comes again will post.

I've recently tried a few of the mineral sunscreens you and other you tubers recommend but have had a bad reaction to them. My face becomes tight, itchy and red. On my face it seems to bring out the brown spots so I'm disappointed. Have you heard of other's with this struggle? I am glad to hear about the chemical ones you talked about since it looks like that is what I will have to use.

Love your reviews as always. :) One thing I have wondered for a while is how long to let a humectant sit on your face before putting an emollient on top? If it dries does that mean I've had transepidermal water loss? I don't want to just push around my humectant on my face with the emoillent, either. Help! :) Thanks for everything!
