I've owned this synth since release and the updates its received makes it shine. The straight OSC might not be the most exciting, you must make use of the very big modulation capabilities the Medüsa haves, make it move and strange. Then we have the programmability and the Grid, it is a pretty extensive music-machine; bringing about musical ideas and controllability is what it is all about and not the raw sound which can be quite unimpressive compared to the topp of the crop. I salute the bravery to bring out something that is not a rehash of the same old same...

RobLocksley those dreadbox raw analogue sounds are pretty impressive as well :) I think the strength of this machine is what has been its weakness in the market: It’s very unique and when people start playing around on it, they get confused by its structure at first and I think some people let that judge their first impressions.

This, the Circuit/Mono Station, and the new Elektron gear is incredible and, IMO, the way of the future. You have awesome and unique grid functionality but can play it via midi keyboard for a more typical feel, which gives you so many options and unique playing styles. All the rehashes and remakes were great and some still are, but it’s nice to see companies truly innovating and I’m totally investing in it.

The shout out to Nick Batt was great! Keep up with the synth demos with Jack, they are the best part of my day. Cheers!!!

OhrSchatz one of my favorite synth memes and synth people.

OhrSchatz must be desperate for amusement during your day. Synth demos involving two people talking simultaneously are not going to teach you anything in my opinion.

OhrSchatz why are you agreeing with him when you just complemented the video?

Haut Strange just to troll him - of course I love most all Andertons videos - the synth ones with Jack especially . Not all are super informative but they are entertaining . I don’t know why you would go out of your way to comment negatively on my original comment but that’s KZbin for you

I feel like this synth was a real missed opportunity for live performers, it looks good on paper but there is just something missing in terms of execution for me. More modular gear this year it is then :)

aikighost I’m getting it because it seems to be getting better and better with each firmware update. Luckily Dreadbox and PolyEnd have been great regarding that. They’ve already made a lot of awesome and much needed changes and have said they’re working on many more. It’s too unique and innovative for me to pass up. If I don’t like it I can always sell it to the next person to see if it fits for them :)

Worst ever synth review? Do you actually employ these people? Do you know you can employ actual musicians to work in your music shop?

I was very interested in this, until the polyend support person showed his true colours and was demeaning and dismissive to enquiries in the sonic state review. The rudeness left a bad taste for many and I am saving for something else because support is very important and I have doubts now with polyend.

Jeff Kent To be fair, that was their PR guy, and while he does technically represent the company, his attitude doesn’t represent the company as a whole in a real way. Besides that they seem like genuine dudes and this is a cool synth. I’m still getting it but I totally get your point.

@@HotStrange Look, I kind of see your side. I'm getting a dreadbox. But, PR in my mind is for public relations, and for the PR guy to be so rude to people asking questions was an extraordinary display of everything not to do. But I know that's another company responsible, thus I'm picking up my abyss this weekend. But I'd not choose a polyend bit of gear on principle.

16 minutes of waffle and learn close to zero about the product. The grid is to appeal to guitar players as it works inboxes like chord shapes Similar to Push 2. The wavetable oscillators cannot be swept they are static.Get yr facts right. RTFM. garbage.
