Dreadbox Nostalgia/ Doepfer A-138s Stereo Mixer Demo

Really cool stuff! I love creative mixing. So much can be done. I just ordered the Doepfer mixer yesterday and can't wait to pair it with my other Doepfer mini 4ch mono mixer. Glad I found this video to give me some inspiration to mess with when it arrives. There's a cool interview with Tony Rolando of Make Noise where he talks about mixing with modular and how he promotes what he calls 'non-centralized mixing'.. Basically our upbringing as musicians kinda taught everyone that you route all things into one central hub mixer and how working with modular makes us use more creative approaches with mixing and how it actually is better

Wow, it sounds way better than the delay in the Erebus. Fantastic.

Yeah I thought so too. I wished the Erebus had a way to send external sound sources through the delay. I’m happy Yannis and the rest of the crew decided to release the chromatic series, so I can mix ‘em up with other designers good ideas. I’m planning on making another video with other modules shortly. Thanks for watching.

The same base delay model on the Abyss was also cleaner than the Erebus v1/2 variant. Seems they’ve kept that cleaner filtering of the delay chips for this third (fourth counting the old Delta dual delay module) iteration. Sounds great and thanks for a lovely demo Morten.

The output from the doepfer goes to an Intellijel Mixup stereo input, and from there to a Focusrite Clarett4 USB audiointerface.

Comes from the mixer. The different stages are mono out from nostalgia and panned in the mixer.
