When I was 14 I got a job at a bike shop in Houston that paid 4.25 an hour store credit. I worked their on and off until I was 18. I remember the first time they let me unbox and build a bike…. It is still to this day the most fun I ever had at work. Now I’m 43 and while I love my job, I still look back and wish I was back building bikes. This channel helps me reconnect with that nostalgia.

It's not a bad job, but bike mech's are really underpaid. You have to keep up with old standards (like 53 different bb's), follow new stuff (gravel stuff, USD forks). For 1800€ brutto it is just ridiculus.

On that bike probably not much, couldn't ask for more. But more brands like MCFK or beast, Trickstuff , Tune, Garbaruk or Wolftooth, Carbon ti, extralite. Also something like hope or trickstuff brakes on gravel bikes or road bikes or special chainrings. Just unique builds. But anyway I still really enjoy your videos and am kind of a geek with a highly personalised bike myself and just love to see this special stuff 😅

There is absolutely no other way you can assemble a bike as perfectly as you do. THE BEST! in the business, I can’t watch anybody else do it they way you do. Everyone has room for improvement but you are as close to perfect as it gets.

I own a bright racing shox and I can only say its on another planet. Other brand (even if usd )are more like a good standard fork but reverse… bright is totally different, motogp tech inside. This build is art

Some outrageous bike mechanic heresy here: 1. 2:54 - you're not doing this with your bare hands unless your girlfriend is a doctor and you have a tremendous urge to see her immediately 2. 0:46 - where is the anti-rattle foam? 3. 5:04 - one shall tighten bolts in X-pattern, this is almost universal rule in mechanics and assembly 4. 6:23 - torque spec galore (not) 5. 7:50 - always measure your cables with handlebar in full lock to either side, which is not seen here (IMO cable housing is somewhat long) It's a pleasure to watch, the picture is mesmerising, but I would not take this video as a guidance on how to assemble a bike.
