Happy to see a front derailleur on this build. I know 1x works for a lot of ppl but in my opinion it's not a proper road bike without a double in front. It makes the weight of this bike even more impressive!

It is amazing how you built this bike without flat handlebars, a 1x setup, a shorter stem, half to the handlebar tape etc, It shows how much bikes have evolved until now.

Perfect music for a perfect bike. 1x would be my choice with SRAM Red to avoid the box. But those are just personal preferences I guess. It is a black beauty!

@ 3:04 I am no expert with Road Bike assembly, but I am pretty sure that you use the device in the wrong direction (Timestamp 3:04) if you turn it 180 degrees your special vise(pressing/holding device) will not endanger the good part and will only press the part you cut of anyway.

As long as you don't clamp it too tightly (moderately snug is enough), it's OK. This is how it's actually done.

NICE, i had a Cannondale Evo HI-MOD that was 12.4 pounds with Speedplay 150 gram T pedals, ENVE tubulars, etc. I prefer old school rim brakes with either THM or Ciamillo. I never knew Ceramic speed made wheels, they look shallow. I bought a Focus Izalco max rim brake and electronic 750 gram frame but i never built it up, all i needed was the SRAM Red 12 speed. Love that crank ===$$$$$$$$$

The weight is impressive but I wouldn't have much trust in all those flimsy parts...but mostly I doubt that this bike rides comfortable. To me this is more of a showcase how light you CAN go. Obviously still a very nice video Mr. Milner!

It’s a vanity project to see how far you can push things, I don’t think anyone would seriously consider using this bike in the real world, maybe for short hill climb events or similar but certainly not for anything else. You’d puncture before you’d gone more than a few miles anyway!

The best thing about light bikes is acceleration. Light wheels are way more important than a light frame. It could be lighter with rimbrakes.

I dont think so. The brake system itself would maybe be lighter, but you would have to use wheels that are prepared for a caliper brake which would have to be much stronger thus making them heavier.

It's amazing how you can drop about £4000 worth of weight if you just go to the toilet before the ride.. The cost rises exponentially while the weight saving minimises accordingly. Lovely build whichever way, I'm sure it'll make someone very happy as it sits in their home as showpiece.

Gelu saddle and Time Xpresso 15 pedals. Would still be over 5kg, but not by much. Do a Time Alpe d'Huez 01 Disc (clear coat frame :-) ) with this Dura Ace. Would be a dream to watch.

Nice build, but for me some parts, for example the brake discs don't seems very durable. I'm not really familiar with this kind of featherweight bikes, so I would like to know how comfortable are they compared to an avarage UCI legal super bike?

You wouldn't drive a race car on the road.. same applies to road cycling, taken with a pinch of salt of course haha. I've ridden all sorts of road bikes but I don't like how Aero road bikes feel and how harsh they ride on road surfaces. I'm not a racer, I'm just riding a bike for fun.. why do I need a super aero potentially uncomfortable and heavier aero race bike? Thats what I sometimes think when people rush to ride the latest and greatest.

I have the Ashimas, they're shit. Going all out on zero-gain Ceramic Speed stuff and then not getting Carbon-Ti rotors (if you're on 6-bolt and fighting for grams) makes no sense. Unless it's product placement.
