Coming from a future nursing student collapsed lungs are SUPER common in young men. Like super common. Most of the time they will recover without incident and go on to be fine. So he’ll be fine just a scary situation to be in :)

They also believe the shape of their ribs and lungs caused during a growth spurt may also be a cause but there’s no real reason they know of just that spontaneous lung collapses are common in tall young men.

I know people are worried about it, so here: I researched it so you don't have too: Pneumothorax (collapsed lung) is very common in tall, thin teenagers and young men, primarily because thats when the body is undergoing quick and sudden growth spurts in the tail ends of puberty. It happens when the growth spurt weakens the lung walls because the flesh has yet to thicken proportionally and causes them to collapse. It's very treatable and very common, and in very rare cases is it severe (Dream's doesn't seem too severe since he's talking). Worst case scenario he goes back to the doctor's and gets a surgery to reinflate the lung, which has a very quick recovery time (about two weeks, tops).
