I remember I was sooo excited to do this course and was so optimistic and only reached intensive 1 day 5. Then after that I gave up. I was too behind and had other things going on. Each leasson took me 5 hours to understand. I wish I continued with it and had someone to work with. Now I'm contemplating whether to start again.
@moniquea24972 жыл бұрын
Come on, you can do this! I'm restarting this too. I stopped at Day 5 back in Nov 2020 and just picked it up again these past 2 months, only doing it at the weekend 1.5 hours/study session on Sat and Sun. It does take a longer time, especially that I also make my own notes, but as long as we are committed (block study time is a must!) and make the niyyah, Insya Allah it'll be easier. :) Good luck!

I’m amazed how maryam and ahmad can be sooo cool and lay back not asking many Qs while me and those in the chats have loads to ask. When you come with 0 expectations, you’ll sail it smoothly. When you come with loads of doubts, expectations, etc you’ll get stuck easily. We certainly can learn a lot from kids. Just let the journey of learning bring you wherever it intended to. Go with the flow. I realized these earlier and also thanks to ustaz reminder from time to time that these things will gonna make sense sooner or later, thus makes me feel more at ease and lay back following the course Alhamdulillah!

Three types of Arabic: 1. Street Arabic 2. Fus'ha 3. Ancient (لسان العرب) We'll learn about ancient (this is the Arabic used in the Quran). It's divided into 3: 1. Fil. Verb 2. Ism. Names of people, places, animals, things, ideas, adverbs, adjectives and more. (Not just a noun, more than a noun.) 3. Harf. Something that doesn't make sense unless something else is added after it. Ism has 3 properties: 1. Raf. The doer of a fil. It has an u/un sound at the end. 2. Nasab. Gives details of the fil. Has an a/an sound at the end. 3. Jar. Anything that comes after 'of'. Has an i/in sound at the end. How to know an ism: (4 properties) 1. Statues. It is either sound (a/an, u/un, i/in) or combo. For males (uuna, iina, aani, ayni) For females (tayni, teena, aatun, aatin). 2. Number. Is it singular or plural. If it's plural it's combo. If it's singular, it's either sound or broken plural. Broken plural can either be human or non human. 3. Gender. Masculine vs feminine. Don't bother with masculine. Learn the feminines and the rest is masculine. 4. Type. Common vs proper. Know the propers, the rest is common. Types of plural: 1. Masculine 2. Feminine 3. Human and non human broken plural 4. Plural because the Arabs said so. It's only three. a) ناس people. b) قرنgeneration. c) قومnation. Light v heavy: Origin of every word is heavy unless you come with reasons to make it light. There are 4 reasons to make it light, one of them is if it has the word for calling (حرف النداء). Like ( ياأيها الذين ءامنو) the يا is used for calling, Quran English translates it as 'oh' like 'oh you who believe'. You can make words light by removing the tanween (un, an, in- or the double troubles) or if there is no tanween you remove the extra N (nun, ن) and no other N. If the N is part of the word like نعمان ,you do NOT remove it. All of page 6 is heavy but can be made light. Flexibility is divided into three. Flexible: All of page six. It can take all three statues. (Raf, nasb and jar) like مسلمُ مسلمَ مسلمِ. Partially flexible: Names of places and anything non arab.It only takes two statues. Raf and nasb. Like يوسفُ يوسفَ يوسفَ Non-flexibile. Ends with an alif. Doesn't take neither raf, nasb nor jar. Like موسي موسي موسي Types of feminine. 1. If words end with any of this they mostly are feminine. Keyword is mostly. a)اء b) ي with a small alif on top. c) taa marbuuta ة 2. Any of theses words: 17 in total حرب(war) سماء(sky) نار(fire) شمس (sun) نفس (person) ارض (earth) دلو (bucket) ريح (wind) طريق (path) سبيل (path) بئر (well) جهيم (hellfire) سعير (hellfire) عصا (staff) خمر (wine) كاس (cup) دار (house) Type: Common Vs Proper Common is used when you are speaking in general e.g 'people, houses'. Proper is specific, e.g 'your people, your houses'. We don't study common in Arabic because it's too general. We'll learn the proper and then we'll know the common by default, because if it's not proper it's common. 7 kinds of proper: 1. Words with ال. 2. Proper names. 3. The one being called. 4. Pronouns (page 18) 5. Ism Ishaarah (pointer words) e.g هذه تلك (page 30) 6. Ism mowsool e.g: الذي ما من 7. The word before 'of' if the word after 'of' is proper. # For now, only the first two kind are important to know, you need them to help you find the properties of an ism. N/B. In Arabic the Al and tanween can never be in the same word, e.g المسلمٌ or المسلمٍ or المسلماً. Because tanween usually means 'a' e.g مسلمٌ(a Muslim) and the Al means 'the' e.g السملمَ (the Muslim). One is general and the other is specific, you can't have that in the same word. So when Al enters a word the tanween has to go. This doesn't mean that Al makes a word light, it's wrong to say that because in the case of مسلمانِ,when you add Al it's just المسلمانِ, it didn't remove the extra N that it should've if it was trying to make it light. It only has a problem with tanween. Mudhaaf and Mudhaaf Ilayh: Mudhaaf comes first and mudhaaf Ilayhi comes second. Mudhaaf must be light and not have Al. Mudhaf ilayhi must be jar, that's the only condition. They are always together. If the mudhaf ilahy's condition is met but the mudhaf is not (or vice versa) than it's not mudhaf and mudhaf ilayh. It can never be separated. Note: When finding the properties of the ism (statues, number, gender and type), in mudhaf you'll never find it's type (common or proper), it'll never give you, you'll have to find out the type of the mudhaf ilayhi first and then that becomes the type of the mudhaf too. The mudhaf and the mudhaf ilayhi can both have it's own statues and gender and number but the type must be identical. That's when asked separately, but if you are asked what's the properties of both mudhaf and mudhaf ilayhi then you say the properties of the mudhaf. It combines both. The letters/words of Jarr: ب ت ك ل و من في عن علي حتي الي. There are only two reasons a word can be Jarr: 1) if it's mudhaf ilayhi. 2) if any of the letters of jarr come before it. The words of Nasb is: ّإنّ أنّ كأنّ بأنّ لكن ليت لعلّ. If any of these words comes before a word, it makes the word a nasb. Jaar and Majroor: Jaar is a name for any of the letters of Jar and majroor is it's victims, the word that comes after a Jar. 5 fragments (more than a word, less than a sentence): 1. Idafah (mudaf and mudaf ilaih) (Must be near each other) 2. Jarr and Majroor (27) (Must be near each other) 3. Inna and it's Ism. (They can be near each other or they can have a long distance relationship.) 4. 5. Pronouns: 3rd person pronouns: Masculine: هو(He) هما(They) هن(Them). Feminine: هي(she) هما(they) هنّ(they) 1st person pronouns: Masculine: َانت(You) انتما(you two) انتم(y'all) Feminine: انتِ(you) انتما(you two) انتنّ( y'all). @@mashmasheen2012 No we study how to read Arabic then every lesson as a big concept and how to do i'rab from grade 2 so we never start with raf' We start with فاعل مرفوع وعلامة رفعه الضمة And never know the difference between light and heavy That's why people don't understand nahw and hate it because the basics are not there
