I myself have the largest motorcycle driver's license that is possible in Germany, but according to the above experience, I have dispensed with a really fast machine because of the family. Sometimes there are obstacles that cannot be overcome. My thoughts are with those who are lucky enough to live it out.

2019...after all these years still watching these videos. I watched a lot of them over the years and this is still my favorite, although there are many others that come pretty close to this one. The footage is just mesmerizing and the music makes it even better. 12:00 for example, just insane footage, and then the cherry on top with that line from 14:48 onward where Jokke and his wingmen descend into that canyon with trees on every side...just crazy. Btw, in these wingsuit videos, the best camera angle to watch for me personally is that one under the chest looking forward where you can see the body and head of the pilot and the terrain under him, and the second best the camera on the back looking backward, seeing the smoke trail and his wigmen close behind.

I would love to do this just once. I've been skydiving. However it's a lot different than simply jumping from a plane and trusting a chute to open and land down below safely. Everything you do in this, has to be done with precision, confidence and your ability to see the unknown. Not to say sky diving isn't all those, but you have a lot more time to react. These guys have zero time to react and correct. By the time they realize the problem or error, it's to late. The problem I see with people in this sport, is it becomes such a real addiction. What once started out as fun and a means to thrill seeking becomes something to which you can not get enough of. Maybe next time I can get closer. And the next time...and in my own opinion it's what kills in this sport. People pushing their own limits to be closer and closer. All it takes is a fraction of misjudgement to end your life in this sport. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of this. Just understand you need to set limitations for yourself. I mean these guys died doing what they love. Outside of that fatal ending, I'm sure if they could speak for themselves they'd say they don't have any regrets. They did what they loved doing till the very end. This sport isn't for everyone. It takes such huge amounts of time, control, calculations and precision. RIP to all those who have gone before us. God bless and God speed to those doing this and for those getting into this extreme sport today. I think I'd make sure where I'm going in eternity before I took the first jump. Could be your last.

its very true that proximity flyers have little time to react, but they dont have zero time to react. if that were true, none of the jumpers in this video and other proximity flyers would be dead, because almost every proximity flyer have had closecalls. but if they are to slow and hesitates with their plan b (or reserve plan), or dont have one (like the three flyers that died recently), there is nothing to do about it.

Karl Oscar Kristoffersen I just meant by the time they realize somethings wrong, without major correction it's to late. And flying at that speed, it's catastrophy. I'm not trying to sugar coat it for the dreamers out there that have hopes of doing this. I'd love to do it, but like others my problem is, I'm addicted to the adrenaline. For me, it's like the only time I feel truly alive.

Rally racers says that "Good racer is a person who know his limits and know when he have to brake" Same thing here, real skilled wing siut man (that's how I call them) ís a person with his own limits. It doesnt matter if is 3 meters from ground or 30, only thing makes the diffrence is that he will survive.
@karloscar9710 жыл бұрын
Lukáš Kos In wingsuit terrein flying, it is not possible to "brake" or flare if you are flying too flat over terrein, thats how Ludo and the two others died. Its hard to compare wingsuit terrein flying with rally racing, cause youre much more vulnerable in wingsuiting.

@camerawelts. com Tell that to the dude that got cheese-grated through a chain link fence on a mountain overpass. You could hear his screams like an approaching ambulance before he hit. This sport is incredible, but these people are taking risks that outweigh the reward. For myself, anyway. That said, I'm referring to the folks that do proximity passes, specifically. You can wingsuit without putting your life in imminent danger.. but w/e.

@Bitwise Magick It's prohibited in Europe, people do it at their own risk, and they all end up dying eventually
@aitorjara1005 жыл бұрын
@Bitwise Magick I meant Europe, not all Europe, you need to check it out first but in general is prohibited. It's the most dangerous sport because deaths need to be compared to number of jumps and practicioners per year. How many people go hunting, climbing, swimming, skiing vs how many go on wingsuit skydiving. The majority of people that do proximity flying die soon, that's not the case in any other discipline

+Randall Buckton apparently mis-read the height of a section of land in the Alps it was higher than at first thought I believe from what I read. apologies if this isn't accurate but it's the gist. Very sad but it is very dangerous which is why they do it.
@Templar78329 жыл бұрын
It didn't say anything like that unfortunately. It just said something along the lines of "It is thought that the height was miscalculated..."
@jopa0309 жыл бұрын
+Randall Buckton The truth is they (Dan, Brian and Ludo) didn't consider wind conditions that day. They were supposed to fly line like one on 3:14 but they couldn't make it over that ridge and ended up circling around (right) and found themselves over long flat terrain. Second mistake was fatal when they decided not to pull and fly unknown line. Full story facebook.com/vincent.descols/posts/10152137818838439
