New to instruments. New to the ukulele. Love the golden oldies like this. I looked for this song so I can play it to my wife ❤ still got a lot to learn but thank you 😊

@@OneMusicSchool I was floored when I heard the news. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, ever comes to Brooksville. The biggest tourist spot in town is a roadside diner where Elvis had lunch one time 60 years ago.

What a great tutorial.. wow.. I'm hoping you will set a standard for uke tutorials. Calling strings by their name instead of 1234, pace of learning, going step by step, singing (which sounds superbly pleasing), various ways of displaying information (strumming + chords + player ). Absolutely love it.. And the gorgeous face.. I admit..

~~~☝🎶🏡~~~ Knock knock: Who's there? Happy: Happy who? Happy us, learning with you! This is so fun. First time playing a song with this cool knocking technique. Liked it so much I forgot to play the chords between knocks in the play along, LoL. Bonus the way the chords flow into one another, really helped while learning this new strum pattern. I'm still amazed how a strum pattern can change the whole feel and sound of a song. Heard this song on the radio before, didn't know it was Bobby Darin as I'm not familiar with this artist. I'm going to find more of his music. Thanks for the teachings Katie. As with your description of this Ortega Rudawn uke, hope you have a cheery and sunny burst day. 🌞
When I got the notification for this song I first had a listen to the preview on iTunes and I really like the idea of having some 60's songs. What you think about that? Nice tutorial as always and I will start knocking (not on heavens door I hope) but on my ukulele after a short walk. Have a nice day
A bit of trivia to go along with this song; Bobby Darin wrote and recorded by him on April 6, 1959. It preceded his Big hit recording of Mack the Knife, also in 1959. It was produced by the amazing producer Tom Dowd.
@Teeum55 жыл бұрын
@@SeanVplayer Thank you for sharing. Again, with the help of iTunes, I found out that I know the song (was not sure when I just read "Mack the Knife"), but in the version sung by Robbie Williams. Though I believe that producers are really really important I don't know a single one. 😉
Enjoyed the lesson Katie, thank you! I have a koaloha tenor ukulele and wanted to ask if you had any string recommendations I could get to gain volume? I don't know what kind of strings it came with. The only thing I had a technician do for me is change the low G string for a High G string.
This is a great song! You always do such a good job on your tutorials! Would you do some Neil Young? I especially love Old Man and Harvest Moon. I found them both on a uke chord website but they are so overly simplified that they lose some of that special feeling. You are wonderful at putting feeling in your songs.
Don't quite get the 2 ways to play D7. Why do they sound different? It's tuned properly.
@OneMusicSchool5 жыл бұрын
They sound differently because you’re essentially using the same note to form the chord, but you’re using something called a different voicing. One using more open notes and the other is the barre chord. I hope that makes sense.
