As part of the payment for the contract, Dream had to become a host to the Nightmare. Letting it eat its way into his stomach and fuse with his internal organs allowed it to permanently survive in the physical realm. Once surviving the ordeal, Nightmare contractors all possess different abilities depending on the type of their nightmare parasite. Dreams ability is exceptional with him not only being able to cocoon himself in a defensive shell, but also be offensive by channeling the nightmares consuming power in his weapons. __________ Don't mind me just creating my own headcannon hehe WHoooOOoS Next?? This concept is actually fascinating! Love the fact that The Nightmare fused with Dream, and this design is super neat! I like how he has a kind of... cavity? on his stomach because that’s where The Nightmare first occupied the vessel that is Dream to be able to stay in this plane of existence, and I’m curious to see if that contract affected the other members of the SMP, and what powers or abilities it gave them. Really cool Ney! Looking forward to see more of these drawings and the story behind them

I can just imagine Techno facing off dream and at the last second, when it seems dream will get the finial blow techno blocks the blow. causing the blade to retract back into dreams face causing him to Stumble. Tommy is already dead betrayed by techno, dream deciding to finish off techno being unsuccessful. Techno feels dread knowing he has done to Tommy what had been happening to him since day one of the smp. Techno looks the monster in the eye knowing what he is truly up against...the monster is visible, the mask is falling apart, his crown has fallen. TechnoBlade was slain by dream using...Nightmare

I was thinking, if Dream had a nightmare contract to boost his power, then what would the other people on the SMP have? But the one character I thought about the most was Tommy, because of his discs. I was thinking, what if Tommy had a nightmare contract and his demon would be the 2 discs. If that were the case, then his ability might be able to boost his power, though not as much as Dream's nightmare contract, but also give him some kind of self-confidence, but if separated from Tommy, his personality would be obsessive and hungry for the discs. His bond to the discs is shown in the SMP constantly, so it would be interesting to have the discs shown as items of power instead of just normal items with personal value.

im imaginine that you could do eret, ranboo and/or sapnap! i think that sapnap would be interesting because you could give hime flames and stuff, and give him like a robo-ish features e.g. super jump boots, or maybe gloves that go up to his elbow with fire markings, he could also have a few burn marks from when he overused his fire. if you did ranboo it would also look interesting because you could give him enderman features, e.g. making him super lanky/tall and/or giving him a super wide mouth with stretch marks. ranboo coukd also have the oposite shade on each side of his body e.g. black area the insed of him in that part is white and viceversa. for eret you could make him a bi-king with servants as he sits on a massive thrown. dunno, these are just kinda my HC (headcannons) for some of them. it’d be amazing if you did them though!!
