Definitely on the list of nominees for greatest song ever recorded. So much raw emotion and it builds perfectly to the climax. And this cover was phenomenal. Every part was done perfectly. You're absolutely right, it's all judged by how they handle that scream. And he nailed it.

This is OUTSTANDING COVER of Dream On. Yep, Blacktop Mojo is the bands name. Their from Palestine, Texas. Three of their songs have made it into the top 40 in the U.S. Charts. This cover made it to 31 in 2018. Where the Wind Blows made it to 27 in 2017. Their 3rd song to make it was Can't Sleep also at 27 in 2019.

I grew up south of Boston in the 70’s Aerosmith was a staple of my youth. I have lived in Texas since ‘81. I work with a guy who owns about 90 acres southeast of Palestine, Texas and has a get together every March called “Weekend in the Country” and Blacktop Mojo has made an appearance over the last 6 years. They are from Palestine and are friends with Kevin Cowham who is a firefighter with me in the Woodlands and love to play there. They are truly awesome people and play acoustic as well and electric. Worth seeing and you won’t be disappointed. One of the best voices in Rock today.

Talking about that drum break in "In The Air Tonight" was great, because they cover that one too. Can find the acoustic version on KZbin. Recorded in an old whiskey distillery. Amazing. Got to see these guys in concert and sit less than a foot away from these guys on the floor of the venue while they singing it

I heard the version done by the Mission (UK) before I heard the Aerosmith version and that gave me goosebumps, (still does,) this version I have to say also got me going when I heard it for the first time, I think about a year ago, after I heard another of their songs 'It wont last'. I keep promising myself that Im going to have a listen to more of their stuff, maybe buy an album or something. Hopefully this time I will actually do it. So good. Some other songs/bands (not covers so far as I know,) you might want to have a listen to if you are looking at this type of band, 'Suit in the back' by Quaker City Night Hawks, 'Rolling 7s' by Dirty Honey, 'She's a dollar, he's a dime' by Phillip Roebuck and 'Electric Worry' by Clutch. In terms of covers I still think three of the best are Bad Wolves cover of 'Zombie', Sara Bareilles cover of 'Yellow' (I know the video is poor, but thankfully the audio isnt) and Sultans of Swing by Leo Moracchioli (Frogleap,) with three honourable mentions for unlikely covers going to 2Cellos for 'Thunderstruck', The Heimatdamisch for 'Sweet Child O' Mine' and Steve 'n' Seagulls also for 'Thunderstruck'. Im sure there are others and many people will disagree, feel free to post your favourites its a free world supposedly.

This one has been defeating me for years, but I'm not giving up. I kept getting to the high note and my voice would just cut out, refusing to go that high. But the other day, in the shower, I realized I had been constricting my throat so instead I opened it up wide and pushed with my diaphragm hard, going as high as my falsetto would let me go. And I hit the note. Now, according to my wife, who overheard, I did not hit it very well. But that will come with practice. Now that I know I can get there, next comes the control.

In my viewpoint the vocalist of this band (Matt James) is by far, the best rock vocalist today. They recorded a few GREAT covers (Dreams by Fleetwood Mac) along with a lot of amazing original songs as well.
