What makes this even more amazing is that Joe Bonsall is 73, Duane Allen is 78, William Lee Golden is 82 and Richard Sterban is 78. Incredible.

@ ZJ2000, the only one who's Voice is slowly beginning to fade just a wee bit is Duane "Ace" Allen. His voice is not quite as strong as it once was back in the 80's and 90's. Still quite impressive for his age though, and especially with Duane being the Lead Singer for the Oaks.

All of their voices have declined significantly. Sterban sounds nowhere near as good as he sounded years ago singing this song. Quite frankly, this is difficult to listen to.

Just saw an Oaks video tonight for the first time in years. They still sound good. I can't believe Richard has a big tummy!! LOL He was Mr. Exercise so I'm surprised. His walk seems off did something happen to him or is it just age? He still sounds the same as when he recorded this. Great!

Seems I heard some years ago he missed some time due to a foot injury. Achilles maybe.

You can tell they are getting older. There voices aren’t as pure and Solid as they use to be. Sad…….
@PrincessMcGraw2 жыл бұрын
Not sad at all. They are EXTREMELY blessed to still be able to sell out shows and perform for millions of fans! Shining Light and making us smile after all these years!
@russellgrimes34912 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessMcGraw The only sad thing is they are still taking people’s money. They should be collecting Social Security like the average Joe who can no longer perform a job adequately. Frankie Valli is older than all of them and still sounds much better than these guys

There is only one Group that could ever top the Oaks, and now that their Bass Singer is gone, they are no longer in the running. The Statler Brothers were always the absolute best sounding 4 part harmony Quartet ever to perform. Even after they had been retired for 6 years, and had not sang a single note together since October of 2002, the Statlers came out of Retirement in the Summer of 2008, for just one song together to commemorate getting their spots in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the guys from Staunton, Virginia still pulled it off, and sang like they had never even retired at all. Can the Oaks repeat that kind of performance if it had been them instead of the Statlers ? Not likely.
