Crayons wld probably work decent for this. But his use of oil pastels are definitely better. Their designed to blend where crayons aren't soft like these oil pastels in the tutorial.

Thank you for your video, I followed your way, but mine became much less vivid. No matter how hard I put oil pastel on the paper, if I use oil tissue to wipe it, then it becomes really light in color. 1) what paper or tissue should I use for wiping? 2) Does the brand of your oil pastel matter for your result? I bought 20~30 Dollar ones. Will it be a problem? 3) I used color pencil to draw on top of oil pastel, and this was also very light in color. What kind of pencil should I use?

I use smooth Bristol paper and normal tissue paper, and my oil pastels are pretty basic it costs less than 4$ and colour Pencils won't work as good , so i use a 10B graphite pencil for black parts.

There is only one thing im going to ask you, whenever i blend, the colot becomes Pale or lighter. But yours are blending smoothly. What kind of oil pastel do you use?

You can also use your fingers. It's easier to blend then. Tissue are not reliable.
