It’s not really old, is it? This kind of music ages differently from pop. If one listens to progressive rock bands like DT, he or she most likely still listens to music from the 80s/early 90s. I think this is why one is less likely to encounter the “who’s still listening to this in (year)” comments on DT videos.

@Pojnt You know Portnoy is a great drummer but he started to wear on me when he started singing on tracks and seemed like his ego and his kit got big but his p[laying stayed the same. I a big mangini fan back to the early Vai recordings and I am eager to see what happens next. After all the side projects started it was obvious he wanted to be somewhere else.

I actually prefer this radio edit to the album version. This is a 5 minute song stretched out to 8 minutes. They cut out the meandering parts and excessive solos(for this type of song at least).

Until 2009/2010, Roadrunner made radio edits for most prog bands they had in contract, like Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree for example (for PT they made an edit of their 11 minute track Time Flies), so it's not a surprise this video uses the radio edit track instead of the full album version.

This song just never fit in the album at all. I think it might be my least favorite Dream Theater song from Images & Words to Black Clouds & Silver Linings. It just sounds like filler imo. Just not great at all. Also the lyrics are essentially about Illuminati while the lyrics on every other song in BC&SL is about personal experiences. Luckily we have this single version which cuts a lot of the sections shorter so this earrape ends quicker. Definitely one of their worst songs imo. Even Wither is several tiers above this garbage.
