"Constant Motion" was released as the first single from the album on April 27, 2007. It was first made available as a free download the same day by Roadrunner Records; it could be found at Roadrunner Records' Dream Theater sub-website for a limited time. This song was also made available to download for the music video game Rock Band. Its working title was "Korma Chameleon", and was the second piece written.
The song was also accompanied by a music video, the first the band had produced in over a decade. The video clip premiered on July 13, 2007 and was released as a free download, in two different formats, also for a limited time. The band hadn't produced a music video since "Hollow Years" from Falling into Infinity (1997), citing lack of interest and lack of rotation on music channels for the latter. The video received considerable airplay on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and was voted as the second best music video of 2007 by the same it is arguably Dream Theater's most popular video since "Pull Me Under" in 1992.

I love this chorus. Portnoy simply destroys from 4:04 to 5:25. What a master this guy is. Keyboards solo is amazing as well. Both Labrie and Portnoy singing are fantastic it gives adrenaline. and Petrucci is Petrucci....what more can i say...even Myung shines on this song

Accelerate, dislocate (Set to crash and burn, haven't got time to waste) Not planning to return Aggravate, agitate (When will I ever learn?) There's no way out of here Nowhere to turn Obsessive yearning Compulsive burning Still never learning Insane random thoughts of neat disorder Scattered wasteland surrounding me Tattered memories of what used to be Apocalyptic mind debris Until we meet again (Uh) Traveling through both space and time (Out of body, out of mind) Out of control, my wheels in constant motion Spinning round and round it goes (I can't let up, I can't let go) Can't stop this flame from burning Can't stop the wheels from turning Traveling through both space and time (Out of body, out of mind) Out of control, my wheels in constant motion Spinning round and round it goes (I can't let up, I can't let go) Can't stop this flame from burning Forever more, into the night, blistering

Everyone hears Metallica influence here, but I also hear a bit of vocal influence of Anthrax's "I Am the Law" in the first and second verse. 1:12, 1:33 and 2:58

I know this is way to late to comment but when Meyung starts his little solo which is bad ass by the way that's when I would run threw a brick wall if you made me listen to that part over and over again that solo and the drums the timing is unbelievable but also the little things that the band does just awesome Guitar solo John also does tid bits from other guitarists in his style real cool that cat can play!!!
