I'd never seen one of these interviews, but what they say is so obvious once you've heard their music... Don't you ever forget it: Mike said Jordan is influenced by Gentle Giant and ELP. So they're prog rock + heavy metal + commercial eclecticism, which explains their success.

but in the end it seems tnat Jordan is the heaviest weight there because the band is more Prog Rock than any other style. all right, they don't follow just one tradition but they still play elec guitars, elec basses, elec keyboards and drums so they do have their limits.

LaBrie is a great singer...and i personally feel he has a very suitable voice for DT because of his style that combines the incredible range of Bruce Dickinson (well not as well as Bruce but pretty fuckin' close) and that cool Dave Mustaine nasal vocalizeing...and offcourse that gives him a unique vocal personality...and never forget he's is a GREAT SINGER
