Aoki got a great submission game...now he's training hard in his striking with muay thai instructors!..can't wait to see him back fighting again

I really hope that DREAM will get bigger in years to come.

shinya says in the begining he says with his style he fits in the top 10. and he also talks about chanjing his style of fighting. i think thats great for shinya aoki. if he can do striking he would be a dangerouse fighter. also shinya is really popular in japan so it should be a good main card.

I'd love to see aoki in next years bellator tournament ....would be amazing
@btjackbeats Proving his opponent is a can in their opinion, Dream offers about a minute of McCullogh background to Aoki's 4:30. Now that Aoki has taken steps to become more rounded, such as training in Singapore, he may actually break the top ten. But he definitely needs to fight some named opponents. And more of his opponents need to put up strategies like Meledez and Hansen.

@opencasket57 if hes signed with SF still, technically hes under the zuffa banner officialy. and if they are interested in him and if he is the best. he will fight the best ;p

@BoboCarsi When I started watching MMA you didn't even know who Melendex, Alverez or Aoki were and Dream, with it's tiny roster, didn't exist.

@ta0paipai you're trippin gil melendez is easily top 3 despite what ranking publishers have to say, the guy is looking more and more tremendous every fight and dana white has been very vocal about his great talent, and don't be surprised if you see Gil get an immediate title shot after edgar - maynard 3
@ta0paipai13 жыл бұрын
@ryanthemute Agreed, Melendez is a beast. Point is, Melendez is top ten, Aoki is not... yet. Not when he's fighting guys dropped from UFC/WEC or guys straight out of shooto and deep. People love ignoring the fact he lost that hybrid kick-boxing match- in the MMA round.

why doesnt aoki fight someone in the top 10? if hes a top 10 lightweight
@Mannypacquia013 жыл бұрын
@opencasket57 well aoki is good enough to compete in the ufc. obviously he has to get used to the cage and all.

yeah, Aoki definitely needs to fight actual names if he wants to be considered top 10. He's fuckin good and I like him, but i wouldn't call him top 10.....yet
@hikitsuzuku13 жыл бұрын
@calexrose no way. Hes training with the best muay thai guys in the world. way better than quest or aka. you are crazy. He may not become a great striker but itll help him be more unpredictable and set up getting the fight to the ground for him.
@ta0paipai13 жыл бұрын
@BoboCarsi So by your logic, fighting a bunch of guys not fit for the UFC/WEC puts him in the top 3? Melendez beat him down and he isn't even top three. His record is almost as padded as Kid Yamamoto's. People used to say Yamamoto was top 10 POUND FOR POUND and look at him now- top 10 overrated careers. With Dreams current roster, its going to be difficult for any fighter in that organization to prove they are top ten. they just don't provide many competitive match-ups.
@btjackbeats yeah exactly.. i mean not saying he isnt an amazing fighter, he definitely is, but he will never be top 10 unless he fights people in that region. plus look what happened when he did finally fight a top 10 LW..... aka gilbert melendez.
@Mannypacquia013 жыл бұрын
@opencasket57 well itll always count as a loss in my book. and yeah it wasnt even fair, aoki stalled like crazyu but its whatever he lost that fight.
