Dreamcatcher is THE group who represents the meaning of “hard work pays off.” Up until last year, getting them their first win felt like a pipe dream…. However, we Somnias prevailed and got them their first win and then another win later on before their promo period for Maison ended!! I’m proud of them for making it this far and happy that they got me interested with how they interact with their fans. Heck even just random people like me back then when I didn’t know who they were until 2018…! I hope they can continue to be successful down the line and we’ll always be with them. 🥰

That one word some of the critics used in this video is the reason why I respect Dreamcatcher so much: their perseverance. Like, when following the trends as Minx didn't make them stand out, they did the exact OPPOSITE to truly stand out among the crowd. People tried to tell them to go for a more mainstream sound if they wanna get popular, but they knew better because that experience got them nowhere. They themselves probably doubted the rock sound was the right path at one point early on because of initial low sales. However, the first ever music show nomination they received was like a beaken of light that showed them that they were actually doing something right. So, they constantly refined their sound and made it better each comeback and now in present day, it's safe to say...trusting their gut was TOTALLY worth it. They're winning trophies, they're touring the world, they're being invited to festivals, and the list is just gonna get bigger! My personal hope for them next year is for them to make their US TV debut. Like, that would be the ultimate flex: where you worked hard enough to where even AMERICAN companies see value in you! This actually hits on a personal level as someone looking to eventually start a career in cartooning. I always loved reading and watching both mainstream and obscure cartoons and animation and I always wanted to create my own, but the last few years, I found out that maybe trying to be mainstream isn't the best way to stand out. Instead, I started to set out and think of something that was more, well...me. Something that is more my personal thing rather than trying to fit into a box while still being something genuinely good. As that's what Dreamcatcher have done and succeeded at, they are a source of inspiration for me and I hope they'll be one for anyone looking to be genuinely them and genuinely different, outside the box, and have the strength to keep going because, as they proved: hard work really does pay off, especially if you have genuine faith in what you're doing.

@AyoBlakesterTV if you haven't already read the book "Purple Cow" or "Linchpin" or "This Is Marketing" by Seth Godin, i recommend it. basically, don't try to be everything to everyone -- mainstream and huge success if very very very rare. what you can do, is to market yourself or your product to a passionate group of people that are already your people, and that's how you succeed. coming back to topic, this is exactly what Dreamcatcher and their company have done -- they market to passionate fans, international fans, the people that really like them, rather than try to cater to the mainstream. that elevates their art, and you can do that for a long time (and not be some one-hit wonder mainstream "success"). i forgot which book, but Seth Godin mentions the rock band "Grateful Dead" who never had any songs in the Top 10, but they consistently sell out concerts and have been playing to their passionate fan base for DECADES. long-term passionate fans vs. short-term fleeting mainstream success.

Did you see the one member from "Seventeen...?" He was smitten over Bonvoyage and Deja Vu, I tried to sing along with him.. lol. I especially get excited when I see the other idols singing DC songs in the green room while they get ready. Everglow members singing Deja Vu while putting on makeup was sentimental. The impact Dreamcatcher has had on Kpop should never be underestimated, just like the group itself. Dreamcatcher debuted at a time when South Korea and Japan were very hostile to each other so Jrock was viewed with suspicion by most Koreans. Dreamcatcher didn't give up though and kept pushing until now a lot of new groups are following in their footsteps. South Korea doesn't have a Kpop Hall of Fame, but they need one just to acknowledge what Dreamcatcher has accomplished.

I'd literally do the same if I have the opportunity 😂 on top of that, the girls are also loved by many people interacting with them in the industry since they're just too lovely. as someone mentioned: "I came for the songs and talent but stayed for their personality" dreamcatcher is truly a complete package group for me to stan 🤩 hoping the girls for achieving more and more these upcoming years!
