Dreamcatcher (드림캐쳐) ‘Chase Me’ MV reaction | HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LADIES!

"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night.

Not really Ghosts per se, but Nightmares. Their original concept was each member was a representation of a Nightmare/phobia. Which pretty much goes away after the Nightmare series (6 Korean & 1 Japanese TT). But they keep with the Dark and pseudo horror concepts, just not the traditional "movie horror" (except BEcause. which the mv is based off of the Horror movie "Us").

Besides the Japanese releases, these early releases are the hardest rock they ever did. Dreamcatcher are first and foremost story tellers which is why watching them in the order they were released is the only way to go, otherwise it's like picking up a book and reading chapters at random. Their music has evolved since Chase Me (their debut) with the addition of more EDM and hip hop elements, but the rock is always there. It's how you know it's Dreamcatcher. Of course that only strictly applies to their title tracks. Their B-sides can be any one of a number of American music genres. They can sing pretty much whatever they're asked to do. They've appeared on a Korean music show called Immortal Songs which is a Golden Oldies type show with a live band. Thanks for continuing to check out Dreamcatcher! I'm looking forward to your journey through their discography. Here are a few suggestions for when you start trying to decide how you want to tackle it. Each album has an instrumental Intro. These are fantastic 'appetizers' for the albums and help to set the mood for what's coming so make sure you include them. Some of the albums also have Outros and interludes so make sure you include them for the same reasons as the Intros, though there are only a handful of these. If you've already seen the Title Tracks, feel free to throw in a dance practice or performance video/concert video as a way of keeping album continuity. You'll never get complaints from us for including more content. Many of the b-sides have special clips and/or performances that are available to view. Some people do these during album reactions, some do only lyric videos and then revisit the special clips in separate videos, while others will do a lyric video & the special clip together during the album reaction. It's up to you how you'd like to do it, but I just wanted to make you aware of their existence. There is at least one per album with some having 5+.

Yes, 5 of them were already debuted as Minx but them re-debuted as Dreamcatcher after adding 2 new members. I think the best way would be going through the title tracks by the order of the release. That way you can follow the story and listen how their sound evolves by the year. Afterwards, you can check the B-sides. Their official channel have a list of "Special MV" which is usually performance/self-made MVs for the B-sides.

@@sassjastans In case it got lost in the paragraphs of enthusiasm from Insomnia, the entire Nightmare Series is Chase Me and Good Night with the ghost hunter guy, Fly High and You & I telling how they got there, What and Piri are less plot apparent and more theme oriented about what happened to them after Good Night, and Breaking Out is a Japanese language alternate ending maybe? The lore is guesswork and repetition by fans and some interpretations conflict with others.

@@sassjastans No spoilers about the videos, but interpreting the symbols is aided by knowing the original Ojibwe traditions about dreamcatchers. Spiders are guardians (that's why dreamcatchers are shaped like spider webs to catch bad thoughts before they can enter your dreams).
