Here's the story: The girls are all trapped within the system and their real bodies are in a coma state except for Jiu. This is because Jiu is the only who noticed they are not in reality. In reality, you can't directly look at the sun or it'll hurt your eyes but she did it easily which shows that she's not in reality. Since Jiu is the only one who figured it out, she managed to escape but not for the rest. Fortunately, Jiu has a weapon/tool that can help them escape the system but it only has 5 charges. She sacrificed herself to let them all escape that's why you only hear a gunshot aimed at Gahyeon because Gahyeon is the last person she used the charge for. This is also why you don't hear a gunshot when she aimed it at herself. So she's trapped in the system forever, sacrificing her life for the rest out of love. What a true leader

a little explanation 0:09 everyone is having fun playing around with each other. Jiu realizes something is off and finds out that this is not the real world 0:27 Jiu has a mission to save all the members by shooting them with this gun that will take them back to the real world she looks at the gun which tells her there are only 5 bullets which means she will have to leave one of them behind 0:38 Jiu is in a hallway full of doors behind each door is a different member in their dimension 0:50 Gahyeon is singing the lyrics "For a long time, meaningless blooming days, dreamlike stories that will come true at the end" she is saying how she has these dreams of all of them together and that she wants it to come true and wants to get out of this hell-like world that she is in not knowing its not the real world. She is in a junkyard full of junk showing she is scared of abandonment 1:00 Yoohyeon is in a school-like environment the tables and chairs are messed up which I'm assuming means there was a fight, each member is stuck in a horrible world wanting to get out but they can't. She is in a Japanese school, a foreign school showing that she is alone and left out from not knowing the language 1:11 Jiu is walking to where all the girls are at. In a coma which means they are in their dimension. She sees the purple crystal in the middle which one of the members has to get in so they all can get out and be saved. She is trying to make her decision and pick a member that will go in that purple crystal 1:33 she first picked Yoohyeon as an option 1:35 Siyeon is in a room with TV's and she is hugging a pillow/toy I think it means how she is getting watched and every move she does that someone watching her makes it a problem she probably went insane and broke the TV's and now is hugging that pillow/toy because it's like her only "friend" 1:46 Sua knows what's going on and wants to stop Jiu, save everyone except herself but Jiu found out and chained her so she won't do it. Sua is trying to get out to save Jiu but she can't because the chains are too strong 1:59 Jiu touches the crystal signaling that she is ready 2:15 Dami is in a dimension full of riches she is rapping "I try hard to erase the spread scent but the harder I rub the more it smudges nothing more than that just put a lid on it yes I've got used to it yes the future I created by adding present to the color of past" it sounds like she would rather go back to being poor rather than living with all these riches 2:26 Jiu stands in front of Sua, Sua is still trying to get out and stop Jiu but she can't. Jiu is looking at how each one of the members is doing in their dimensions to see who she should leave behind 2:37 Jiu goes to all of their dimension seeing which member doesn't need to be saved as bad as the others so she can leave her behind 2:53 Jiu understands that they all need help badly and aims her gun at them to shoot and save them. Each member shows a reaction to JiU with the gun pointing at them. Yoohyeon shows fear, Dami shows defiance, Sua shows anger, Siyeon shows carelessness since she doesn’t even look back at JiU when having the gun pointed at her, and Gahyeon shows hopefulness (big thank you to @Teacher_PR for telling me in the replies) 3:22 You hear the gunshot which means they all got shot and saved. You can see Gahyeon and Jiu have the same bracelet supposedly meaning they are sisters 3:26 Jiu opens her eyes and sees all of the members in front of her. She is happy knowing she saved them all, Gahyeon reaches her hand out to Jiu so she can hold it 3:33 Jiu smiles and goes to hold Gahyeon's hand but realizes that they aren't real 3:54 Jiu stands in the hallway after saving everyone. Jiu doesn't know what to do since she already saved all of them 4:03 she looks at the gun and takes it she puts it against her head and tries to shoot herself but no gunshots. She looks back at the gun which shows there are no more bullets left 4:28 The members wake up from their coma realizing the world they were in was fake and sees Jiu in the crystal symbolizing she sacrificed herself to save the others 4:42 the camera goes to Gahyeon as she realizes her dream will never come true because Jiu isn't there to complete the group 4:48 there is a dreamcatcher on the floor with a purple butterfly on it which shows Dreamcatcher isn't dreamcatcher without Jiu but you see the purple butterfly goes on top of the dreamcatcher showing even if Jiu isn't there she will always be dreamcatcher's leader and will always be there supporting the rest Kim Minji best leader this made me cry

Story of MV: JiU is not killing them, she is saving all of them with the gun. The purple crystal corrupts the world and minds of people. JiU is out to save her friends from a world of illusion brought about by the purple crystal. She was looking at Yoohyeon beside the crystal as she did not expect Yoohyeon (her romantic partner) to be trapped (She knew she had to sacrifice herself to save everyone at that moment). She enters their illusions one by one after touching the purple crystal and saves them by shooting them. After she done it, she gets caught in the same false world and that's when she sees all her friends together but then the illusion breaks as JiU had saved them. JiU, in great despair, tries to save herself but she only had enough bullets for her friends so she is trapped forever and consumed by the crystal. The starting scene shows JIU realising she is trapped in the false world as she could look at the sun without flinching her eyes. And then the scene cuts back into the real dystopian world where she tries to save her friends. True leader JiU

MY THEORY (WITH THE CONTRIBUTION OF OTHERS): there are 3 worlds; the field, inside the gem where JIU goes to shoot each member, and the real world (where they are sitting in a circle). Each member is trapped in their own nightmare realm but they don’t realise it because they see themselves in a peaceful field (their mind is tricking them into thinking they’re living peacefully) while their bodies are asleep sitting in the real world (where the big purple gem is), JIU is also trapped but she looks up to the sun, the theory is if you’re in the real world it is hard to stare at the sun but she is able to do so and realises she isn’t in the real world, which woke her up which is why she isn't sitting in the circle with the others. she then travels into the gem which gets her into each member’s nightmares and shoots them to wake them up. after shooting each member she wakes up back into the peaceful field world because she thought her job was done and so she was taken to where they started (aka the field) but because she traveled into the gem she was stuck IN the gem, which then she realises she has to shoot herself but she ran out of bullets so is trapped in the gem please add anything :) i just made this up edit: in my opinion the field isn't JIU's nightmare because each member is seen in a sitting position (yes, SUA too) in their own nightmares, if the field is JIU's nightmare she shouldn't be walking around like that. I think that the reason they aren't fighting back is because their mind isn't where their body is (I have no explanation for SUA), i say that their mind is tricking them into seeing and thinking that they're living happily together. When JIU touches the gem and travels to each member's nightmares they are slightly awaken (see that they slowly look up at JIU like they just woke up from a dream and their eyes are still hazy) because they realise someone is present inside their nightmares with them. And when JIU touches Gahyeon's hand and her hand turns into butterflies that symbolises freedom and going back to reality, they leave the field world because their mind isn't tricking them anymore. Also, i don't really see their respective nightmares as being labeled (like Siyeon is disconnection, Gahyeon is toxic environment, etc) i just think that these places are where they are each placed without a real explanation because some of them are very vague.

WHOAAAA 🤩 This is just my theory: I think Jiu realized that she and the other girls were all trapped in a dream world or an alternate dimension. By shooting them, she freed them from the dream world, but she doesn't have enough bullets for all of them (at the beginning of the video, there is a "5" on the side of the gun). After freeing the other girls, she tries to shoot herself to get herself out of the dream world, but can't. In the real world, the other five girls wake up and realize Jiu is still in the dream world. (Edit) After rewatching it, I think Jiu starts out in the real world, where she finds the girls trapped in a dream world. She touches the crystal to go into the dream world to save them. The butterflies might something like her avatar?? (In the Fly High MV, Jiu was also associated with butterflies.) That's how she appears in front of all of the girls in different places, and at the very end, when the girls wake up, Jiu is physically trapped in the crystal, but her avatar (a butterfly) joins them, landing on the dreamcatcher.

Sooo I got a theory about that mv : each girl trapped in a "dream" represent a sin. Gahyeon: Probably Lust since there is a lot of red (sexy color) and she is reaching forward and smiling, as if she's yearning for love and physical affection. Siyeon: Sloth because she's got a pillow and seem disinterested and apathetic. There are also Tv surrounding her and watching tv is kinda lazy. Sua: Wrath obviously: She's thrashing in her chains and her face is full of hatred. The chains may be present because she needs to be restrained because of her wrath. Dami: Greed: she is surrounded by luxuries and wearing gold. Yoohyeon: Pride since when Jiu points the gun to her face she doesn't show any emotion, as if she didn't want to show any weakness. Moreover, all the books, papers and writings on the board may show her wide knowledge and it is very full of it (lots of books, papers everywhere and the board is full of writings and graphics) as if she wanted to show how much she is knowledgeable. Since there are 7 sins, I think that there might be a sequel with Jiu and Handong as Envy and Gluttony.

Heres a sequel even tho im not good at writing: R.o.S.E Blue - The Shattered Sequel: The 6 girls go into the sacred room every now and then to pay tribute to their dear leader, JiU. Sacrificed to the endless depths of the unusual dimension, they knew they had to save her somehow. A mysteriously familiar figure appears next to the door to the crystal room. The 6 girls take a look. It was an entity, known as "Handong", and has known about the crystal for an unknowingly long amount of time. She was holding the exact gun JiU had. Handong surprisingly knows about everyone, all the members. And has been called by JiU to save her. Handong touches the crystal with no hesitation, as she knows exactly how to save JiU. Gahyeon is in high hopes to save her best friend from the harmful effects of the altered world. Handong takes a deep breath and walks through the Hallway of Nightmares, known to be the places of the members before being saved by JiU. They use their sharp eyes to find something to save JiU. Yoohyeon exclaimed; "The bullets.. Do we use them?" As she saw 7 bullets laying on the ground, perfect for saving all of them and returning them to the real world. Handong didn't say anything and immediately grabbed and loaded the bullets in, as the screen on the gun increased to 7, they felt happy. But, after roaming in the eerie hallway, they got lost in the darkness of the halls. Luckily, there was a tiny string of light coming from an unknown source of sun.. They had no way to bring the light somewhere else, though. A coin was sticking out of Dami's dimension, Siyeon quickly grabbed it and reflected the light to the wall. "It works!" Gahyeon exclaimed. They reflect the light on a new room and find sunlight. Representing JiU's dimension that is supposedly "happy" and "cheerful".. SuA ran into the room and saw a figure, almost going to fade away... Gahyeon swiftly moved SuA aside, hoping to see her dear friend. She walks closer and closer to the figure, having a very strong resemblance to JiU. She turns around.. They see the sweet face they all know and love, except her eyes are black. In fear, Gahyeon and SuA ran out of that room and told everyone what the two of them saw. "That is not JiU!" Gahyeon shouted. They all ran far away in the hallway, except they lost the coin.. They didn't recall where Dami's dimension was located in the hallway. Handong said "Lets just go here! There's a glowing violet crystal!" They ran towards the crystal and saw the real JiU. The one girl they all were looking for. She had her heart rate recorded on a very old screen. She was engraved in the purple, crystalline, structure they were familiar of. "Screw it! Just shoot the crystal!" Gahyeon said. Handong shoots the crystal with her professional aim. JiU fades away.. The 6 girls wondering if this is good or bad... Whatsoever, they still shoot themselves after, Handong as last. They all return to the real world and see JiU's crystal slowly collapsing. Gahyeon was ecstatic after waiting for a long, long time. JiU falls down on the floor, after a few seconds, she slowly opens her eyes up. Her first sight was Gahyeon, looking at her being concious for once, crying happy tears. Handong decides to stay with the 7 girls for the rest of their life. They hold hands as 7, and reunites with JiU. Pls no hate lolol me tried me best

JiU's scenes hit differently with each member: Gahyeon: A sisterly feeling. Gahyeon trying to reach out and the pain in Jiu's eyes is something you feel when you have to make a hard decision for family. Jiu finds it the hardest to kill her. Yoohyeon: They are lovers, their gazes and the fact that JiU saw her first of all when she entered the crystal room. Yoohyeon's expression when JiU points the gun at her 'Babe, you are in love with me, I am sure you can't kill me'. Dami: An old friend who started hating her due to some misunderstanding, the indifference is on both of their faces. SuA: The friend who perhaps thought that JiU betrayed her but JiU did not and still wants to make amends. SuA's bonds are holding her back from doing something radical in rage to JiU. Siyeon: The friend who is distraught and lost and in the most pain because of their innocence (since she's hugging a soft toy) cuz the world keeps taking advantage of her and JiU has always been there to care for her, almost as a Mother. *Quick Summary of The Story* If you ever watch INCEPTION you must be understand where this is going. So in order to save the girls and bring their consciousness back to reality, Jiu need to wake them up from the dream. To do that, she need to enter their dream through the crystal and "kill" them all in their respective dream. Each and every members doesn't realize that they are living in the dream world. Long story short. Because now Jiu herself is inside the dream, she need to "kill" herself to go back to the reality. The problem is, Jiu only has five bullets and she already use it all for waking up the girls. So now she trapped, in the crystal, in her own dream as she sacrifice herself in order to save the girls. Looking at the last scene where Dreamcatcher ornament was on the floor, I believe if there's a continuation for this MV, it will be the girls' saving Jiu. I hope for doing that the girls need their last remaining pieces, Handong, and they will return back with all seven members. It will complete this beautiful story. I love this MV because I can see real-life Jiu is relate and reflected on the story in this music video. But, there's no Dreamcatcher without Jiu, Our leader, and the other six.

This will probably get lost in the comments but for those of you asking: Handong is NOT leaving the group. I know some of you may be new InSomnia’s but she is not leaving the group. She has stated multiple times that she misses them and even dreamt about being on stage with them. Plus she did a who vcr thing for their online concert lol. She’s still a member of Dreamcatcher. They are still a 7 member group. She is also training for their next comeback in Beijing. Due to Korea restricting travel and due to Handong having a wuhan passport (or something of that nature), she can not come back to SK just yet. I’m sure it’s difficult with her being away and stuff but if you’d like to get to know Handong, there are plenty of videos plus old Dreamcatcher notes and her few vlogs where you can get to know her. And before anyone asks why Lisa got to come back to korea but Handong couldn’t, Lisa left China before the restrictions. Handong couldn’t leave due to being a contestant on youth with you. By the time the show was done, the restrictions were in place. Edit: also this is not their comeback. It was just for a game collab. Here's what I think regarding each of the room they represent. Since the crystal is supposed to be the corruption or something that corrupts, when the members are trapped inside it, they each are in different kinds of the world's corruption: 1. Gahyeon's room: litters and trashes. Human hardly care about where things and stuff would go after they're done using it. Litters and trashes actually keep piling up and scattered somewhere they don't want to know, and sometimes damage the planet. And the room can also represent human's fear of being abandoned if they fail or cannot survive the world. 2. Yoohyeon's room: school or education. We see Yoohyeon sitting in a very stiff and uptight manner, just like human being "manufactured" in school. "Bad" schools-sadly the majority of schools are-try to instill certain approved and fixed ideals to their students, such as what is considered right and wrong. Students don't get to argue; they must obey. Creativity is considered a rebellion. 3. Siyeon's room: information, media, and gadget. We see her hugging a stuffed doll, which we often see in bedrooms. With nowadays' gadgetry and internet, human sometimes lost touch with the physical/outside world, and even the existence of other people. That's why when the gun is pointed, Siyeon doesn't pay attention to JiU, lost in her own world. (Or perhaps she's just very angry at JiU. 😛) Another take is that the room represents how human are attacked with too much information. It's getting difficult to decipher which news is correct and which is not, which is why Siyeon's eyecolors are different. Each information base and media have their own agenda, they even attack eachother. 4. Sua's room: pain, constriction, power, and brutality. By chaining up a person, we trap them. We feel like we can do whatever we want with them, and that's actually a desire probably each human has deep down. When human feel very wronged, they sometimes feel like they want to kill and torture the person that causes the pain. Some human don't even need any reason; sadists. When human can inflict pain to others, they feel like having the utmost power. 5. Dami's room: money and wealth. Human want money. They want it a lot. Even when all their needs are fulfilled, they still want more money. Just like inflicting pain to others, money also equals power. With a lot of money there come respect, glory, but also greed. (Edit: Sometimes human feel like they don't need other people as long as they have money. Thus the I-could-care-less expressions by Dami.) JiU's "reality" is probably the most pure, for what her character treasures most is relationship and love. Both are the counters for all corruption. That's why in the end, when she's saved all of her friends and sister from each of their corruptions, she becomes the one who is corrupted. The corruption to relationship and love is loneliness.
