Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Parts 2 and 3 are "Boca" and "Odd Eye"!

I like the lyrics. The theme is anti-bullying. The first 2 or 3 sections the lyrics are 'I don't want to want to make you scream". Then they snap and get the devil eye. We see the explosion of blue light from Yoohyeon on her knees 8n the video. And the last stanza the lyrics change to "I just want to make you scream". Monster creation 101. So good. 😎🤘

And honestly, Deja Vu is still my favourite dc title track till now Dreamcatcher (DC/Deukae) is an unique 7 member girl group. They're a K-pop group known to incorporate pop & other genres and blending with rock/metal/synth instrumentals within *ALL* their *TITLE TRACKS*. Thus creating an unique signature blend of genre known only to Dreamcatcher. They're also known as the Concept Queens and having Powerful live performances, usually with dark/horror/creepy concept themes MVs. Their title tracks MVs have always been story based, connecting one song to another. **This is only for their TITLE TRACKS.** They've had concerts and live performances with live bands, which, to me, has the best versions, which many InSomnias can agree that. On a flipside, their B-SIDES hold a *HUGE* variety of genres and experimental fusion creativity. It's like a different world of Dreamcatcher. Ballads, EDM, jazz, funk, reggae, hard metal/rock, just to name some. Their B-side tracks is where they flex their vocals & versatility which seems infinite, as they continue to surprise us everytime they comeback with new songs. The members also showed their creativity by taking part and getting credited for the composing, writing, choreographies for some of their songs too. They have also done numerous vocal/dance covers, adding their own twist to the songs, making it their own. If you are interested in learning more about the group, then I kinda recommend NOT checking out any of the current guides - they all tend to go through the now long discography of the title tracks in chronological order while mostly missing the story of the group which is pretty epic in its own right. Instead, I'd recommend the video "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports" by Mera here on KZbin for the history up through Deja Vu. Then I would turn to the videos of Insomicsy - the Dreamcatcher fandom is blessed with one of the best fan editors in Kpop. I'd watch any one of her annual "This Is ..." to learn about the individual members and get names attached to faces. And then maybe her "Dreamcatcher 1st Win" video to learn about their major achievement after the time covered by Mera's video. (Dreamcatcher currently holds the record in kpop for the longest time between debut and first show win - Dreamcatcher's story is one of very steady progress and increase in popularity.) About the only bit of history you will be missing at that point is the fact that the one Chinese member Handong went to China to participate in a music survival show at the end of 2019 that was supposed to only take a couple of months but got trapped there for the better part of a year due to the pandemic. Thus, she was not in the original videos for Scream, Boca and Endless Night. But mostly enjoy the music - you're already getting the usual outlines of the available tracks, and you can approach them however you wish: chronologically or thematically. InSomnia will be happy to guide you.

@@sassjastans Heh - my number one favorite is Deja Vu, and so in I my opinion you started at the top. Then I have Scream (are we detecting a pattern here?) But then probably Piri, Bon Voyage and Good Night (which can then connect you up with a great K-Rock band Rolling Quartz who covered it and whose drummer apparently was Dreamcatcher Handong's drum teacher). Enjoy! (Siyeon is my ultimate in Kpop and so I'm obliged as well to recommend her cover of Speechless from the Aladin live action movie.)

Yes, dreamcatcher is known for their rock genre in all their title tracks. They are dubbed the "face of korean rock" Deja Vu was a bit different because its from a special album in collaboration with a mobile game called "Kings Raid" (in addition to that game, they also have a song called "Eclipse" its in japanese and it is actually the opening song for the Kings Raid anime) Scream is part of a trilogy called "Dystopia", which covers topics on cyber bullying and things like that. The 2nd part is Boca (means mouth in spanish), and 3rd is Odd Eye. Scream- hear no evil Boca- say no evil Odd Eye- see no evil I do highly recommend listening to all their songs including their B-sides. All their songs have meaning in the lyrics that reflect on real issues in the world. Brief overview of all series/trilogies: Nightmare series (from debut, lore is that each member represents a different nightmare) -Chase Me (debut) -Good Night -Fly High (mv is the prequel to first 2) -You and I -What -Piri Dystopia trilogy (which ive mentioned above already) Apocalypse trilogy (about climate change and saving the earth) -Maison (french for Home) (they got their very first music show win with this song after 5 years) -Vision -Bon Voyage Others to mention (special albums): -BEcause (summer holiday album, MV is a reference to the movie "Us") -ROSE Blue (game collab with Girl Cafe Gun) Fan Anniversary songs: -Full Moon (1st anniversary) -Over the Sky (2nd anniversary) -Reason (6th anniversary) Recent song (i believe it is going to be another trilogy, i dont know) -OOTD Sorry for this loooooong comment, hope you get to enjoy them as much as the rest of us Insomnias(fandom) do.

Thanks for checking out Scream! Don't worry if you're not as fond of some songs as others. While all of their title tracks incorporate rock to some degree or another, they always sound very different. They have one of the most diverse discographies I've ever come across from any artist. Their b-sides span dozens of genres & sub-genres including Rock, R&B, EDM, Trap, Trance, Jazz, Reggae, Funk, Pop, and much more. I'd say the closest song to Deja Vu, in terms of sound/song structure, is going to be Bonvoyage. This was the title track from their Apocalypse: From Us EP that released in May of this year. It blends the softer vocals for the versus and the harder hitting rock chorus in a similar way though it's still pretty different when compared to Deja Vu.

No problem you weren't a fan of the chorus, it was definitely a change up for them which divided the fandom a little (and in my experience we as a fandom don't really get pissed by honest reactions, we do get pissed from straight up hate but this is far from that). They had the more instrumentally driven chorus to go off with the dance (or at least that's what happened) which I really love also, in their live concerts they do add something extra to the last chorus so maybe you are interested to check that out (on your own).

I’m so glad to hear about InSomnias being open to honest opinions. I think what discourages reactors (though I am a noob haha) from sharing their opinions is fans who just straight up get angry/hate those who don’t like the same things as them. I hope that you guys also don’t mind my honest opinions. 🥹 while I really, truly, appreciate music on its own, I acknowledge the fact that I also have my own preferences, like any other person. Deja Vu is unusual. It's the only one of their title tracks that's a ballad, so if you're expecting Deja Vu again you won't find it. There are a number of ballads among their B-sides though so look there. Scream is the first part of the Dystopia trilogy, with Boca being second and Odd Eye being third. The three songs are a scathing critique of internet culture with the emphasis on cyberbullying. The third song focuses more on the constant stream of lies and misinformation that pours out of the internet and the future that is going to come from it. Reason is a fan song released on January 13, 2023, the sixth anniversary of their debut. It probably won't mean much to you since you don't know much about them yet. From what you said, and from what I’m reading so far from the other comments, it seems to me that Dreamcatcher and their music really touch on very significant topics that I hardly see in other artists/groups. People may be hooked by their title, but bside is the gold mine and the reason why InSomnia forever support Dreamcatcher. There will be at least one song from the album that is your taste even if it isn't title track. The only reason why they're bside is because they aren't rock. They choose the most interesting rock song to be the title.
