Thank you for Dreamcatcher’s reaction. Dreamcatcher has a sound that mixes K-pop and rock sounds in their main title track. Vision is the second song in the Apocalypse series. The Apocalypse series (Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage) is about environmental protection. I also recommend dystopian series (Scream, BOCA, Odd Eye). The dystopian series is about hate messages and cyberbullying.

You can approach Dreamcatcher however you want, but since they are story tellers and most of their title tracks are parts of continuing stories as this one is, starting with their debut song 'Chase Me' is a good way to go. Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!

Welcome to the Dream world! Vision is very much typical in style for Dreamcatcher. Others have filled you in on the various song cycles. It does mildly help to know what the theme of each of the series is, but there is no real overt plot to any of them, and so you can't really go wrong in picking what to react to. Generally, InSomnia seem to rate Deja Vu, Scream, Boca, Piri and their most recent Bonvoyage the highest from what I can tell. If you want to learn about the members, we have an amazing fan editor on KZbin called Insomicsy and she has a yearly series of videos about each member called "This Is ..." Pick any year and enjoy.

dreamcatcher \:D/ vision is part 2 of their apocalypse trilogy which addresses mankind's destructive nature. in this regard, vision is essentially an anti-war song. if you keep this in mind, the imagery in the video would make more sense. the 'turning over page' part could be interpreted as pages of history. there's a lot more to it but that's the general idea. dreamcatcher likes to combine different aspects of music spanning all genres and time periods so every song sounds different from any other song in their discography. vision combines synthwave and industrial metal. while a lot of dreamcatcher songs uses rock/metal instrumentation in some way, this is the first and potentially the only time synthwave is used.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! I see that some others have already given you some info on the song and the group, so I'll just say enjoy the ride. With title tracks that always incorporate rock and metal influences and b-sides that span dozens of genres and sub-genres, Dreamcatcher has the most diverse discography I've ever come across from any group ever, and it's always excellently executed. I also noticed that you've been reacting to Sleep Token. They're my best find in 2023 so far. I really enjoy their music and my playlist is mostly Sleep Token and Dreamcatcher at the moment, lol. Dreamcatcher is a kpop girl group with Rock influence in their title track...more like K-Pop Rock but with their own distinct sound & style. Their title track mostly Rock & Metal influence, but still quite different from each other. They explore various kind of Rock subgenre in their discography. Was the song you’re thinking of by ATEEZ or Pink Fantasy by any chance? ATEEZ’s Guerrilla had some metal inspirations and Pink Fantasy’s Poison was even more metal. Also, this sound is very typical of Dreamcatcher. They’re well-known for their rock fusion title tracks. Their Japanese songs even enter the realm of metal.

@@extremelywhitegirl2543 ATEEZ and Dreamcatcher shared a 2 guy production team called Ollounder and LeeZ for years, and so much of both group's songs were written by the same people. LeeZ took a new position at a different company at the start of this year, and I'm not sure what's happening with ATEEZ but DC's songs are being written by a team headed by Ollounder.

@@scttschlz That's correct. Several other Edenary producers, the team that does Ateez's music, took over for Leez after he left. Pepperoni, Olive, Buddy, and of course Ollounder, who's been with DC since they first debuted. Maddox, another KQ artist has also worked on DC's songs and on Ateez's as well. These producers have credits on a good chunk of the Apocalypse trilogy, so they've been working with DC for over a year now.
