Just chiming in to remind that Dami wrote New Days! This is one of my favorite mini albums, and it cannot be understated how much Handong was missed on the previous two comebacks and this was a beautiful way of letting her comeback and shine.

If I remember correctly, Wind Blows and New Days were heavily influence by the pandemic. We were still in the thick of it when this came out and both songs are about longing to reconnect with the world after being forced apart for so long. The quarantine was particularly harsh on Koreans because their culture is very social. I think that's why there were so many high energy songs and uplifting songs on this album.

this is one of my most favorite from Dreamcatcher! finally reach this album/mini-album(?), idk, but yes baby yes, Odd Eye, Handong comeback, eye opening, Gahyeon part, SuA kick, yes baby yes! Wind Blows is my top ranked side track, worth if it was a title track. Posion Love's Special Clip. 4 Memory, there is live when Gahyeon Day and it's beautiful. New Days, there was time I repeat this song a whole week, I think it's JiU's voice, calming lovable line that is so addictive. Dystopia Era has its own charm.

New Days is my absolute favorite Dreamcatcher b-side and remembering that Dami wrote it makes me so emotional. The hopefulness of saying, “I will be look for you and find you no matter what” and then the lyric changing to “in the darkness, I found you” instead of the “find you” in past choruses is always what makes me sob even if I stuck it out through the rest of the song and didn’t cry, lol! I also love the imagery of as long as your voice reaches me, a new day blooms again 🤧

I think your interpretation is right on: the title track sets the overall message--which is that there's no utopia, but there may be hope to resist the dystopian elements of society and the the b-sides add nuance to that theme Wind Blows is about how difficult it is to connect with someone you long for but that the searching is worth it just for the glimpses of them. Poison Love is about how you can get distracted from those you should be connecting with by desire for someone who doesn't treat you well even if the physical connection momentarily distracts you from that. 4Memory is about the nostalgia for someone you love and wanting to hold onto the memories you built together. And then New Days is like a reprise of Wind Blows and 4Memory but this time with a more solid commitment to and hope for reuniting (while also being a fan song about the members and insomnia). All this makes for a lovely progression, I think, in that unlike some pop music that only focuses on the sugary promises and first love, these songs acknowledge the difficulties of modern life while also giving some hope for connection.

This album had so many of my Dreamcatcher favorites for a long time until Apocalypse: From Us and VillainS dethroned it. Odd Eye MV has some of the best visuals, Wind Blows has some of the best choreo and energy, Poison Love is the most fun self-made MV (and also the last one so far 😢), New Days is so uplifting and positive and even the ballad 4 Memory is one of their best ballads. Excellent mini album! Unrelated, and this may be a bit of a curveball for what you normally listen and react to, but I think you should check out Babymetal's new colab single with Electric Callboy called "Ratatata". It is metal and goes harder than what you normally react to, but it so freaking fun and catchy and kind of a perfect place for new listeners to discover Babymetal if you haven't already heard them.

Dami did writing and composing on "New Days," and she's so proud of it, and she's always especially proud of Siyeon when she hits that note towards the end live. Bri out here like "I wasn't expecting the techno EDM route!" when she's heard Silent Night, Curse of the Spider, and In The Frozen, lmao! Odd Eye Siyeon is Siyeon Hair Supremacy, I will die on this hill. She has had other hair styles and colors that have been good but Odd Eye Siyeon hair is GREAT! SuA also always be dancing like the rent is due. Fun fact, in an interview with DC's choreographer, she said that she lets Dami just kinda...do whatever for her parts and she always nails the right vibe, which is legit! Wind Blows is one of my favorite DC b-sides EVER! I was lucky enough to see it in concert and it slaps! It was also the song that convinced my bestie to become an insomnia :D It's funny that you mention anime intro, because they literally have an anime intro to the King's Raid anime called Eclipse! It's also funny that you said "is she an airbender?" and then Tori said "kamehameha!" bc I watched a dancer react to this routine back when and he said "that move is the dragon ball" lol! Poison Love is such a HILARIOUS video, they're such goof balls! I love that they made Dongie the main character bc she was finally back from China! And the way they're all acting crazy at the end and that one staff member walks by like "Yep just another day at work, lemme just get out of the way rq." First of all YAY Handong IS BACK! I really enjoyed this album and New Days is one of my most listened to songs from them(There's a performance of it during their online concert where they were having so much fun with their dancers and being so adorable and goofy) Also I can't wait for the next album I think it MIGHT be my favorite album even though it's so different but it has 3 of my top favorite dreamcatcher songs on it, and also my favorite ballad from them A Heart Of Sunflower just makes me tear up every time I hear it especially when I watch a live perfomance of it ( There's this one part in this song near the end that Yoohyeon does that has ALWAYS made me tear up without fail 😭 like I don't know how but the moment I hear her or see her do that part tears just start forming in my eyes LOL) Im excited to see your reactions to it!!

like most of their songs, the lyrics are abstract just enough to allow for multiple interpretations. there is a trend to note, the songs ending albums tend to be written for/about insomnias. usually it's a ballad but road to utopia has one more song than usual for their mini-albums. in previous albums, songs with member credits were placed last and new days has dami in both composition and lyrics. so for this album, you can place 4memory as the 'ballad' for/about insomnias with new days as the bonus member composed song, just like how paradise was placed last in tree of language and scar was placed last in escape the era. new days has also been an encore, concert ending song for many of their concerts. with this, you can interpret the lyrics as despite the gap in time that follows between us, we'll still find each other as if it was just another new day.

The cube that Dami was about to eat before seeing Dongie's face on it was 무 (Mu), which is Korean radish, usually served pickled and cubed. Every Korean Fried Chicken restaurant in Korea serves them as a palate cleanser. There are also a lot of people who just eat them as a snack.

For me the best Wind Blows performance to watch is the dance practice because of the fixed camera. The other videos you lose the whole effect of the choreo at Handong's part because the camera zooms in too far. For something so impactful I don't know how they approved this camera-work. My first love, Odd Eye. This is where i got sucked in the black hole. This album is a special one for me. If i am to hold on to only one of their albums, it would be this. After knowing about Handong, it would seem that this album is created as a welcome back ceremony for her. And also, since she came back, she really improved her skills and especially her visual. How good this EP is, that good track Poison Love becoming my bottom fav track in this EP. New Days btw isn't New Days in Korean title. In hangeul the song titled 시간의 틈 시간 = time 의 = possessive particle 틈 = gap So technically the title is "gap of time". But they took another line to get translated to "New Days" from the end of the chorus. Wind Blows also technically only "Wind" because the title is 바람아, not 바람아 불어라. Btw, you've reached D:RTU EP, if you want more variety shows, there was a channel named ROLLING that now changed to @KPOP. Dreamcatcher appeared 3 times: *Dystopia: The Tree Of Language era* - transonglation of SCREAM with Dutch, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Basically singing the song with some parts translated to another language(s) - call me by your language with Portuguese. Basically read the comments and replied it with assigned language - prop dance. Basically like relay dance but with props *Dystopia: Lose Myself era* - transonglation of BOCA with Vietnamese, Mexican Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese - mind link with Indonesian. Basically like making a short letter to any members with some parts translated to assigned language (also possible to use blank) and the members tried to guess what is it - prop dance *Dystopia: Road To Utopia era* - transonglation of WIND BLOWS with Indonesian, Mexican Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese - dance challenge of ODD EYE. I've never seen anyone listen to Poison Love without knowing about the video. If you wanted to see Dreamcatcher's duality, the lyric video and the special clip back to back are the perfect way to do it. The song is dark and tragic, but every time I hear it I picture the video. Dreamcatcher never stop messing with my head (and I love it)! Don't miss the Wind Blows relay dance. I think Sua may have overcharged her battery that day.
