There are actually a few changes in the final chorus that no one seems to notice. First, the arpeggiated guitar (or synth I'm not sure) from the first two choruses isn't present anymore in the final chorus and instead replaced by fuller-sounding guitar. Then the choppy vocal effect isn't used anymore, making Gahyeon's and Siyeon's belts much clearer. There are also some small elements added in there that weren't in the previous choruses. They're subtle changes, but they were effective in making the final chorus hit harder.

As an Insomnia whose favorite title track is Piri, I was pleasantly surprised at how Justice feels like a throwback. I’ve been telling friends that it feels like You and I meets What, and I LOVE IT. This album felt like “coming home” for an Insomnia.

For me this song is perfect instrumentally speaking and vocally obviously. The parts that make me rise are simple, the Gregorian-type chorus in the background, the drums beating in the background, the guitar and the very simple slide of the bass but that warns that the best is coming!🤩

Yeah that performance is awesome but I really think the vocal effects are needed to make the final chorus feel as hard as it feels. Whenever I'm watching the live performances, while I'm still in awe because of their vocals, I feel like the entire song is kinda the same. I've learned to appreciate a lot more the vocal effects, it makes waiting to the end worth it :)

Was looking forward to this one and will really look forward to the cover! I wrote about this on my blog when I reviewed the album and I know you say it here too, but I feel there's an argument to be said that Dreamcatcher isn't back, they never really left. They've tinkered with their rock/pop core for a while, it's just that some of their comebacks (like the last one) show it more obviously in the resulting song. IMO this was re-affirmation that they know what their bread and butter is and have no issues flexing that when needed. Concept-wise you could also argue that in a duology of opposites that this was the counterbalance to the last comeback's OOTD, truly "VersuS". I know you talk a bunch about vocals as well but as Siyeon is sitting out these promotions to focus on her health and I wish her al the best to take the time she needs to come back when ready, the rest of the group has stepped up to the plate in her absence. Handong and SuA handle Siyeon's high notes for live performances and have proven the group is full of great vocal talent that can fill in (but obviously not replace) Siyeon's unique place in the song.

Yeah, I think I said this in my OOTD reaction, but they've never stopped having a core DC sound, you know? I totally agree, they just explored different aspects of their core sound while always sounding like themselves. I'm just partial to this certain aspect because of the guitars and vocals. 😂😌 But yeah, I wish her the absolute best and I hope she takes as much time for herself as is needed. As someone who's struggled with high anxiety for years, I (unfortunately) understand to a certain extent. I'd much rather her take a long time and come back stronger than rush the healing and not be well. 🫰🏻

4:18 I'm enjoying this so much xD It's always so much fun to see other insomnia lose their shit, specially for a song like Justice, which has been a personal kryptonite of mine since it came out. I have to take a moment to sit down anytime the song comes on shuffle and I can't function anymore xD 4:34 What a MOOD, like at this point I just had my face in my hands, completely overwhelmed xD What you mentioned in your initial thoughts about Justice having the classic Dreamcatcher sound, the empowering wall of sound, I kind of agree. This is not to say that I dislike anything Dreamcatcher has done to this day, I liked every title track. I just feel like Justice feels like coming home as an insomnia. Justice has everything that I had to look for in the b-sides for some of their last few comebacks (again, not a complaint at all) but it's also somehow... more. Like. I value a level of dramatics and fantasy in music and in music videos, which Dreamcatcher has always brought. But the last time we had this level of dramatics, of this sort of emotional depth, in a song itself was during Deja Vu (imo obs). Deja Vu was beautiful and magical and I understand why it is the way it is. It's one of my favourites. But I really likesa bit of a heavier and fuller sound. Which other Dreamcatcher title tracks have, but then the emotional depth is not the same. Justice, for me, was like combining the best of Dreamcatcher, everything that ever attracted me to them, combined together. Justice feels like the classic Dreamcatcher, but more Dreamcatcher than anything else Dreamcatcher has ever done, if that makes any sense xD It's like seeing the Nightmare Series era and Dystopia Trilogy era Dreamcatcher's final form or something. Like it was a merging or something. Sorry for rambling in the comments, I have many feelings and thoughts and I'm not the best with words but I'm taking your invite to share thoughts ^^; Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher, making covers and posting them, and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on the music with us, I really appreciate it as someone who not only doesn't understand the technicalities of music but also often doesn't catch the nuances of songs and sounds. Okay, you NAILED the part about DC having a consistent ecosystem. No matter which form their music takes, it still always has a distinct DC sound that is always amazing. Their consistency is WILD. Also, I love to hear the impact they've had on you. Truly good music does that for people and I know the girls would love hearing it as well.
