One of the great things in having their own company is that DCC can solely focus on them, which means more DC content for Somnias. I know DCC gives them the creative freedom to make special clips of their BSides so I'm also looking forward to that. And perhaps if we're lucky, we might even get a new dance performance choreographed by Sua.

I have no idea what exactly prompted Happyface to invest that much to create a whole subsidiary company just for DC but I will be forever grateful. They must have known they stumbled on something really special and it's thanks to them that DC was able to thrive. @@m.s9972 I’m not a music expert but even I can see how talented they are. Siyeon is a vocal powerhouse. Sua and Dami can rap, sing, and dance. Yoohyeon can easily be a main vocalist in another group. Jiu is a lyricist. The potential is endless. And their team dynamic is amazing even now with Gahyeon and Handong. It was also smart of DCC to divert their efforts internationally while Korean Kpop fans warm up to their unconventional dark concept and rock/metal style. While they’re making bank in album sales, they also gained profits from touring, online concerts, etc.

MV interpretation and analysis: A Comparison to the Movie US by Jordan Peele. This is not completely my own interpretation and analysis, I simply compiled, pieced together, and added a bit of my own thoughts to the comments and analysis of other InSomnias, yt reactors, and other people. US Movie Summary (contains spoilers): (Note: Capitalized words have something in common to the mv) The beginning of the film shows a young girl, Adelaide. During their vacation, she went inside an abandoned FUNHOUSE (amusement facility) of MIRRORS where she discovers her DOPPELGANGER after she bumped into a mirror and saw a REFLECTION OF HERSELF but the reflection didn’t mimic her movements. Fast forward to the future, Adelaide now has a family and one night, doppelgangerS of their family appeared in their driveway. They stood there with their ARMS INTERLOCKED. The doppelgangers got into the house and then we meet Red, Adelaide’s doppelganger. She tells the story of a girl and her SHADOW. Whatever the girl did, the shadow was forced to mirror it but in the worst ways. Red also explained later on that they were created to control the people above, they are clones but are forced to share a soul. They LIVED UNDERGROUND and were eventually abandoned, making them insane and then they planned their revenge, to take over the people above. The movie continues, people and their doppelgangers fight. People die. Red and Adelaide had a showdown and Red got killed. Adelaide and her family are now safe. Kinda The last part of the film shows a flashback and here comes the plot twist. We go back to the time Adelaide visits the funhouse. The GIRL IN THE MIRROR reaches out and GRABS THE OTHER GIRL BY THE NECK and takes her UNDERGROUND. She then TOOK HER SHIRT and ESCAPES. Therefore, RED was actually the normal girl. The one from underground took her place as Adelaide and pretended to be her and lived her life. Comparison to the Music Video: (Note: we have two main characters, Gahyeon and Jiu, they represent Red and Adeliade from US. the color Red represents evil, the doppelgangers, the ones from underground, while Blue represents good/normal, the ones who live above. All the girls have their own doppelgangers) The first part shows Gahyeon in the black outfit, she sits on a chair that’s underground and there are chains. So this Gahyeon is evil and she’s inside a cage but then she throws it away, meaning she’s now been set free. Next we have the group dance scene and we see the girls’ arms are interlocking. Then we have Gahyeon and Jiu mirror each other and we see Gahyeon grab Jiu by the neck. (in Us, the doppelganger grabbed the other girl by the neck) Next is the long one shot scene. Here we have Jiu, Handong, Gahyeon and Yoohyeon. Take note of their outfits. Their expressions here are kinda cynical. In Yoohyeon’s part, shes pushing this trolley that had dresses on them. There’s the white outfit that Jiu wears in the carousel, Yoohyeon’s pink outfit in the carnival ride, third outfit idk, fourth outfit is Handong’s pink dress in her other scenes. My thoughts are that these 4 girls in the reception are the doppelgangers and the Evil ones, and they’ve taken the Good ones underground and took their clothes. (in US movie, after the doppelganger took the real Adelaide underground, she took her shirt). Also in the back, theres the word ‘concierge’, it orginates from the Latin cōnservus meaning fellow slave. Next we have solo scenes. Sua is in a hallway of mirrors, Jiu has a scene there also and we see her in the carousel (in US, the real one went to a funhouse of mirrors). Gahyeon in the white dress is in front of a mansion, Siyeon is wearing a checkered dress and in her scene, theres a moment where there are two siyeons. One is above, the camera pans down and we have another siyeon inside a tunnel. This scene adds to the idea of doppelgangers living underground and people living above them. Then theres yoohyeon in the pink dress in a carnival ride. Last is Handong in her pink dress and we see another her getting dragged away. My thoughts are that these scenes shows the Good/Normal ones and all the settings are mostly outside, meaning they’re originally living above. And handong’s part implies that the normal ones were taken away. The group dance scene also shows a mirror image. The girls wearing red are under while the blue ones are above. This implies the red being evil living underground, and the blue are good/normal. Second verse and chorus. here we are introduced to the doppelgangers. The following scenes also shows how the doppelgangers got free and started taking the place of the ones originally living above, and how the good ones were taken away and are now trapped. We have Dami in her black and white outfit, she is in the carnival and is surrounded by shadows, which means she’s part of them. Then we have Jiu seeing herself in the mirror (in Us movie, the girl finds her doppelganger when she looked at a mirror). Next is Siyeon in her zebra outfit, she is underground but we see her moving freely and not trapped in the chair. Then Sua with the mask (in US, one of the doppelganger kids was wearing a mask). She is behind these bars but there are gaps wide enough for her to pass through. Then evil Dami is shown to be outside and at the carnival. Yoohyeon in her white outfit, the same one from the reception scene is evil and is also outside at the carnival. Then we have yoohyeon in the pink dress, the good one, she is now in a room. Then Gahyeon is sitting in the chair looking at a mirror then suddenly disappears. The good ones were taken and are now trapped. We have Handong in white outfit standing in the middle of this ride, facing the shadows, then she moves and holds one of them. This is the evil Handong. Next is evil Sua inside the broken mirror. She offers a poisoned apple to kill the good Sua in the white and red outfit, you can see her reflection in the broken mirror. just like how the evil witch poisoned snow white. Next is Dami and Handong bed scene. This is the same Handong that was dragged earlier in the mv. She is now underground, and has met the evil Dami. I think the torn teddy bear shows how the doppelgangers really want revenge and kill the ones living above. Next is evil Yoohyeon, the same one in the reception area. she is on a platform at some place in the carnival, implying that she is now also free and is living above. BUT notice how the textile hanging above turns from red/evil to blue/good… hmmm, plot twist? Sua scene. Here the good one took the apple offered by evil sua. Evil Sua succeeded in taking the good one away. Next we see evil Sua is now outside, overlooking the carnival. We now have a carnival mirror scene. This adds on to the concept of evil doppelgangers. On the right there are five girls wearing red, the evil ones, on the left we have four girls wearing white and one wearing black.. hmmm, plot twist? In the last chorus, we have the good ones, Jiu and Gahyeon in their white outfits running away, probably being chased by their doppelgangers. Then we have a group scene. All the girls are underground and Gahyeon is sitting on the chair and is trapped. And here comes the plot twist. Notice their outfits. Everyone one of these girls were the Evil ones, the doppelgangers. But somehow, they're the ones underground and are trapped? In the very last scene, we see Jiu in her white outfit, she’s supposed to be the good one, but why is she smiling like that? Then we see all the girls in the reception area, notice how these were all the girls I mentioned earlier to be the good ones. The ones that were dragged away, were chased and trapped yet they're still above and not underground. CONCLUSION: Each girl had a doppelganger. In the beginning we see all the good ones, the ones living above, then the bad ones were introduced, they were with the shadows and were underground. But in the end, it is revealed that the bad ones are actually the real good ones, but they were taken underground, and their doppelgangers took their place and escaped to the world above. The fake good ones were being dragged, chased, and trapped, and at first, it's to confuse us to think that they're being attacked by the evil ones, but i think its because the ones they took underground are now having their revenge. Just like how the real Adelaide was choked and trapped, and her doppelganger escaped and went on to live her life, then Red, who was the original Adelaide, finally escapes underground and takes on her revenge. Gahyeon and Jiu are the main characters because they represent Adelaide and Red in the movie US respectively. In the carnival scene, one of the good ones is wearing black while the other 4 wore white and the 5 doppelgangers wore red. This implies that one of the good ones isn’t actually good. In US, the family met their doppelgangers, but what they didn’t know was that among them, there was a doppelganger, and that was Adelaide. I hope this made sense. Lol.
