We just completed a 5.5k kms drive from Mumbai to leh and on our way back went to Srinagar. Let me say 1 thing, I'm never going there for sure. There's nothing great about the place and most of the people there weren't very friendly. The only very friendly folks were our army Jawans. Hats off to them for everything they do for our country. In 1922, Maharaja of Kashmir Pratap Singh built Banihal Cart Road (famously called BC Road) between Srinagar-Jammu. Back then It was only meant for bullock carts, hand carts and pedestrians. Later with technology, we can see it in present form.
