You’re an incredible mum and I truly value and commend the fact that you enable Henry to have as ‘normal’ a life as possible. You are a true role model! Keep up the great work!!

I’m a mom of a type 1 and I myself am one too... I remember when my daughter was first dx I was so strict with her.. and then that first Christmas I was watching her at a party sitting in a corner while everyone else was enjoying cookies and Christmas treats.. and I thought .. omg what am I doing.. Diabetes is hard enough day to day.. it’s not about what you eat it’s more about portions and covering the carbs... we eat the same dinners that everyone else eats.. I’m glad to see that Henry enjoyed Halloween.. as any child would. You do a wonderful job with keeping up on his health.. don’t let anyone tell you differently!

Thank you. It's hard to see them miss out. That happened a out at Henry's old school.. They didn't care what I'd say. They would have him bring the treat home and not say it with the class.

You are such a great mom. I can’t imagine some kids who don’t have such an involved and informed mother or dad helping them learn how to live with diabetes. I see so many of our kids here at school who have no support and I can’t imagine how things are at home for them. Henry is a blessed boy! (All three are!!)

I don’t know why listening to Henry talk chokes me up! I’ve been following your/his journey since the beginning and he sounds so sweet and mature now! I still see him as that tiny two year old in the hospital bed! You’ve got a good one mama! Side note- I have a 22 mo old with a 29% speech delay. She has to be 33% delayed to qualify for speech therapy through our state so I’m looking into private therapy. I was wondering if you could make a video about any tips or tricks you used with Charlie? Or a little more about his speech journey? Hearing him pop on and say “it’s Halloween!” gives me such hope!

Definitely go with private therapy if your insurance is good. I'm actually a speech-language pathologist myself. I'm still doing speech therapy with Charlie.

You are a amazing mom with Henry. Thank you so much for sharing, It's nice to know that diabetics can have fun just like everyone else. It just takes a little more calculations lol. I wish we had this 58 years ago. God-bless you and your family.

Thank you for the Type 1 Tuesdays and posting about real life with type 1. I remember I found your channel earlier this year after my son was diagnosed and it was very comforting. Halloween went decent for us. We just kept handing starburts or skittles, gummies, etc, as we walked. He still went low but 🤷🏽‍♀️ such is the life lol. Thankfully it wasn't crazy low since we kept up with treatments during the walk.

He's a child. With today's technology, a wonderful kiddo like your son doesn't have to miss out on fun treats and holidays. When people first discovered the disorder, people weren't living a year. Now, your son (and all the other type 1's like him and myself) can live full lives, and at his age, he's going to grow up with even more innovations! This is a fantastic time and the best time in history to be a diabetic. Ignore the naysayers and have cookies! 😊

Diabetes is NOT easy,especially when you eat certain things (processed foods) My prayer is that someday,hopefully SOON, the world will LEARN from our mistakes and the health issues that have gotten worse and worse. Food is medicine but the man-made food is poisen. Thanks for sharing your crazy roller coaster of a type 1 day Henry!! People learn so much from these posts Amy!! The boys' costumes were AWESOME!! P.S. How is Evan's eye doing,his make up made it difficult to see,which may be why it was the perfect choice!!

How old is Henry. I am 13 and I am type one. Are you going to get the new omnipod that is coming out? I also have the same bag for all of my supplies. And I agree that our lives are like a roller coaster. I think it is great that you allow Henry to eat what he wants. I also agree that we need to get the word out about Type one

I would like to see a type 1 video on How to Deal with sibling rivalry if you have any experience with that? My oldest has type 1 and his little brother was 1 1/2 when his brother was diagnosed. To this Day he kind of acts out a lot when fx we do site change - and at most mealtimes. I feel like he is fighting for our attention. Do you have any advice, thougts, experiences?

good evening, where did you buy this kitchen scale, I am diabetic, I am French and watch your videos for a short time, I wish I could count my carbohydrates too. That seems important to me. Could you give me the references of your scale please, I find you very courageous you and your son, we in France are late with the reimbursement of CGM Dexcom, the g6 is not yet reimbursed unlike Insulin, access to the insulin pump is also complicated for some patients. The protocols are drastic. On that, I don't bother you anymore, I keep watching your videos, waiting for your response. see you soon and thank you for sharing your child's daily life with his diabetes

Just curious if he ate like a lower carb diet would that help his number or no? Just totally wondering .
@dreamflight6000
@dreamflight6000 4 жыл бұрын
Probably. NO carb for sure would!! If he didn't eat any processed foods or fruit that also probably would keep him more stable. Who knows though... He sometimes spikes hours after eating. After puberty, numbers get more stable regardless.. I've read that.

If he's going to take a bite of multiple things and then replace it with a new one that he eats the entire thing... It matters. 😆 Luckily he didn't do that though.
