@TemprestTheTornado25 күн бұрын
@@ShadowfulGamingYT I know the sound testing at 0:16 is because if you look closely, the flaps don’t move at all, probably it was the landing gear.

You hear the electric version of the demand pumps that are air driven on all other Boeings, come on as heard at about :16 seconds in, and no the A350 flaps are still slightly quieter since there's no demand pump on the A350
@lightydreamer2132 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering what the hydraulics are doing to make the noise. But I am in love with this noise and actually got rid of my fear for flying. 😍
@colinmartin9102 Жыл бұрын
It's the flap transmission Power Delivery Unit (PDU), sits in the middle of the aircraft and drives the transmission shafts to the flap actuators. Modern aircraft like A380 have 1 electric drive motor and 1 hydraulic drive motor, some aircraft have 2 hydraulic motors, they drive a differential gearbox which takes the drive down both wings, there will be another separate system for the slats, I think the flaps and slats often deploy together and so you probably hear both systems. The motor systems are independent from each other to give redundancy capability, so the flaps can be deployed on a single motor if there is a system failure. The noise you hear is the PDU motors and gearbox spooling up.

@Odontomango2 жыл бұрын
I agreed. One of my favorite Boeing plane is the B787, BUT I really hate the hydraulic noise too. It's especially super loud if you sit in middle of the wings, like in the video. My second B787 flight was also on the similar seat like in the vid and it's super annoying. They made it so that the engine noise is so quiet now, but the hydraulic noise just defeat that purpose of reducing cabin noises. The sound of the flaps extending, by themselves isn't loud and normal like on any plane, but the hydraulic sound itself don't stop. I read on the google that even dog transported on a B787 had to go to a therapy session. Due to the high pitched noise. It's not loud if you are sitting behind the wings or in front with the engines view. If anyone tell you they actually like that non-stopping high pitch noise. They probably had never been on the B787 or on the wing seat or had their ears clogged from the pressure. It was making me go insane. It's not that bad in the video, even in the one I recorded from my flight. but IRL, it's bad. I enjoy loud plane engines sound too, like the B777 GE90. but this is NOT it. If you're aviation geeks who love plane engines noises then that's even more reason to dislike the noise, because it really drowns out the amazing [engines noise] that every aviation geeks love. The B787 engines noise is already low to begin with... But despite all this, I still love the B787. This problem can be solve if you select other seating. lol
