All temporary events are canon. Even small ones that you will forget about after a while. Characters may very suddenly remind you of it in some insignificant dialogue that will mean nothing to a player who did not participate, but will be remembered by someone who knows what it is about. For example, the phrase that a certain man in Liyue dress arrived at the Mondstadt tavern only to order incredibly strong tea.

Her character could do literally nothing in combat and I’d still pull for her. I have enough to guarantee her. If I get lucky with the 50/50 I’ll throw everything else at Mavuika, but I’m okay waiting for her if it doesn’t work out. Super excited for you that you’ll finally get your Ganyu!

That's the first time I hear that the main events could be non-canon. As far as I'm aware they're all canon and they even reference each other sometimes and get references in archon quests. And even if some of them aren't mentioned, there's nothing out there that contradicts them

That's why even after all these years the stuff from Travail trailer or the very first updates makes perfect sense. Some can even argue that the birthday letters we receive from characters could be considered canon.

A few things to consider about the Chronicled Wish: When you pull for Ganyu, you have a 1/6 chance to get Shenhe if you loose the 50/50. If it works like last time, the 4-stars on it are also limited to Liyue characters. I would suggest not to pick the free 4-star before pulling on that banner. If you have 300+ wishes, you can probably guarantee both characters. The maximum for a chosen character is 180 (usually closer to 150-160 because of soft-pity). Lantern Rite and the Starglitter/Stardust from pulling should get you far enough even in the worst case. The average is 105 but I would not risk it with less than 150. Unless they change the rules for the weapons, don't pull for any of them. The Chronicled Wish pity is now worse than the normal weapon banner (since 5.0). For the freqency of Chronicled Wishes, I guess they will introduce a new region every year and then re-run that yearly. We will see in spring if I'm right - when the Mondstadt event comes (I hope for the third Windblume).

330 fates? Yeah, that's a guaranteed Ganyu. Congrats. Hopefully, you'll get her early and can get Shenhe too. As for Amos' Bow, it's great for her but there are plenty of 4-Star alternatives, plus, as others have mentioned, Amos' Bow is on the Standard Banner, so you'll likely get it eventually. I got Ganyu back in Version 1.2 and actually got her bow a few weeks beforehand while pulling with my free Aquaint Fates on the Standard Banner. As for the free 4-Star selector: go for whom you want. Honestly, there are so many good choices there, though Xingqiou is kinda broken as an off-field Hydro. I'll be going for Lan Yan as I already have the other 10 C6. As for Mavuika and Citlali, um, yes, both, LoL. I try to get all the Archons, so I will be pulling for Mavuika 1st, but like you, the Cryo women have a special place in my heart, so I'm hoping I get both early. Ganyu is my Waifu, has been for years now. Everyone else is just crushes.

So many cryo lovers in the comments. Roschi must be like a rallying horn for us :D I also got Ganyu in 1.2 and I started with the Prototype Crescent. Then when Inazuma came out I crafted the Inazuma craftable bow and halfway through leveling it I got the Amos' bow on the standard banner :D I'm also going for Mavuika after the patch drops. I'll be doing donuts on all the haters (I bet that's her charged attack in bike mode). With Citlali I'm still stugling to decide. I love her personality, I love catalysts and I love cryo, if only she buffed cryo as well T_T. The issue is some of the characters they revealed in that image for the future look really interesting. Especially the [spoiler for Rochi] character and the cow-girl.

IMO Citlali can wait, anyone who shows up in the Chronicled wish are most likely not going to have a rerun anymore other than Chronicled wish itself so it's best to get them there while they're available.

Excited to hear your detailed analysis of the trailer! It's hard to talk about the stuff I'm most excited for without spoilers so I'll keep them to myself. But yeah natlan finale will be fire, Mavuika looks like a must pull for me, love the motorcycle and her gameplay looks so sick, her hair being on fire is literally the only thing I wanted and we got it, also her helmet looks so cool too. I'm personally not that interested in citlali unlike most others, her gameplay to me isn't that appealing, but she's right next to Mavuika who I'm very excited for so I'm biased. And the lantern rite will be beautiful as always, I'm unsure if it's going to contain spoilers for you, the main story usually is self contained, maybe the gameplay aspect of giving characters letters they showed will have some unexpected characters show up but yeah it's probably best to wait until someone checks it for you. I'm very excited for the new 4 star to be honest, her gameplay looks great too an anemo shielder will be very unique, she has grouping and mobility too... Literally every 5.x update has been so hype so far. They're dropping the Mavuika animation/short soon too, I'm pretty sure it could include spoilers but watch at your own discretion/the people advising you xD. The character silhouette's they teased are awesome too, I'm very excited for the next 6 months since it's the first time they've done it/released such a roadmap aside from the first teaser they show of a nation pre release. The second I saw the chronicle wish I knew the struggles you will soon face lol, good luck man, may you have all of the Ganyu's and Shenhe's you desire, finally.

CONGRATS ON THE BANNERS ROSCHI!!! I am so excited to see your pulls for Ganyu, and wishing you all the early wins! Losing to the other characters would be cool either way since you dont have them yet? Most of them (except Baizhu) get materials within the regions you have also experienced already so you'll be able to level them up when you want to! BUT I WONT JINX IT. YOU'VE SAVED PLENTY SO MAY YOUR WISHES BE ANSWERED FAST AND NICELY!!! Ganyu's weapon in the Chronicled Wish is unfortunately part of the standard banner already, and the other weapons you may lose to are very tailored to specific characters/playstyle (feel free to read up on what they do when the banner comes out!). Prototype Crescent is the next best bow for Ganyu that's craftable either way. ^^

Pre-emptive congrats on finally getting Ganyu! And hopefully Shenhe on top. Yes, i think you won't have a problem getting both. Even with the ultimate worst luck you can get, 4x max pity, which is very, very unlucky, you could get both with 360 wishes. If you already have 330, add the 20+ from lantern rite on top and you've basically got it. But yes, sadly Citlali on top will be hard. And given that Citlali is in the first half and the chronicled wish might! be starting in the second half (i think we don't know yet) it could be the case that you can't even get lucky and then go for citlali since of course you don't know if you'll get lucky in advance. But i think Citlali seems to be very popular. Surely they will be rerunning her not tooo far into the future copium. Or you could try to snipe her, still get Ganyu safely and then try to get lucky with Shenhe - also an option. Also hyped for this update, a lot of great new stuff coming. The new boss looks epic. And of course hyped for the story. And will be getting Lan Yan.

Most people are apparently not good at doing math (fair enough tbh) You should assume that on average, if slightly unlucky, it will take you 80 pulls on average on a banner to get any 5 star. Even if you assume you lose every 50/50, you only need 320 pulls to get 2 limited characters. In terms of you wanting Citlali since her kit is designed to be more a pyro enabler than a cryo unit synergizing with cryo, you can go and get her later for sure. I forgot to add that in terms of signature weapons, neither Ganyu, nor Shenhe have signatures that are clearly better than their f2p counterparts most of the time.

I'm so happy we're getting Xiao lanterns back, I'm IMMEDIATLY buying 10000 of them cx I'm also in a pickle. Citlali, Mavuika, and Chlorinde, as well as some of the 5 star weapons that I haven't seen in FOREVER (Memory of Dust for example). It's tough out here. I just heard you talking about Ganyu's bow, Amos bow is on the Standard Banner; however; I still don't have the dang thing and I've already talked about how long I've been playing :/

One good thing about the chronicled wish is that if you select a character then you are guaranteed a character. And seeing as there are only 2 standard characters this time around you can always lose your 50/50 to Shenhe and get a guarantee on Ganyu if the stars align lol. Thankfully I saved everything since Mualani came out and have enough to guarantee Citlali, Mavuika and Shenhe. This time Shenhe won’t escape me.

25:15 I have been saving up for Mavuika since the beginning of version 5.1, so I will definitely be pulling for her. I have 87 wishes saved right now for her, along with the 70 pity I already have on the banner. I think she’ll be a really good support for my Kinich :)

Justin mvp Enjoy being a Ganyu haver. My main for the last many years. Bow wise you dont need special iimited weapons unless you want to easily 36* abyss. Nothing else in the game needs them. Prototype Crescent for freeze and the Inazuma craftable bow for melt function fine.

I'll be pulling for both Mavuika and Citlali... Lord have mercy on my savings (I have been saving since Xilonen, so I should be able to get at least one copy of each). The new game mode that they were talking about at the end is probably the custom domain event, it was an event that was reruned around 2 or 3 times, and they said back in 3.X that they were thinking about how to make it a permanent game mode. This was extremely funny to watch, especially because I have the same reaction. I want Mavuika, Citlali, Childe, Baizhu and Shenhe, with the unfortunate reality being that I can only reach one soft pity on chronicled and one guarantee on limited. Anyway, about the 4 star selector, don't pick Lan Yan. From what I know through dreams that I've had, her materials are in Natlan. The same is true of Gaming whose are in Fontaine, and yaoyao with hers being in Sumeru, though she's not getting picked anyway. Also, as people have already said, only pick your 4 star after doing your wishes on the chronicled banner. You're going to get a lot of them from it considering how many pulls you're going to do. After that, you can just get Xingqiu from the selector if you don't have his c6, or Beidou if < c2, or Xiangling if < c4. These are the really good constellations. Or you could completely ignore that and choose who you want, except for the three that you can't build obviously. The most important thing is to pick a character you actually see yourself using. This is why people generally recommend Xingqiu as the best pick for lantern rite, because there's no situation where you would want to bench him, other than hydro immune I guess.

You say that, but Wrio didnt have a rerun since his original run in 4.1, we are in 5.3. And Shenhe didnt have a rerun, so they had to change the rules for the trap banner extra for her... I do expect Citlali to get better threatment, but Hoyo cant be trusted when it comes to Cryo lol And yeah probably last chance to get Ganyu and/or Shenhe. Unless they use lantern rite's in future for Chronicle Wish again, which honestly they should do, even if the banner is scam, at least it would be an option and if its yearly it wouldnt be as awful.

I apologize for spoiling the fact that Ganyu is getting a rerun in the previous video. The funny part about the trailer this time is because the trailer itself is in CN none of us English speakers know what is said by who so it adds another layer of [healthy] confusion :D Oh, btw if you blocking the subs is something you worry about and you don't mind reading them at the top or somewhere else on KZbin you can just move them. You can drag and drop them with your mouse. But yeah most people have probably watch it already, so I don't think it's an issue if you want to keep them at the bottom for your own. Also I don't know how it will work with the edited version :D BTW with regards to the pyro traveler comment I think you shouldn't read too much into it. I think some people are purposefully trying to throw you off for the sake of spoilers. I sometimes do that too. If we confirm all of your predictions that were true, you would know which are not and that wouldn't be any fun. yes the Chronicled Wish is it's own separate banner so it has it's own pity. Similar to how the Event wish, the weapon and standard banner have separate pity. If I remember correctly though the pity on the Chronicled wish will carry over from the previous Chronicled wish banner. In the trailer there is a frame where you can see Cyno and Tignary attending this Lantern Rite, so there might at the least be some Sumeru spoilers. I would advise to wait for other people in your discord to complete the full story and tell you if there are spoilers in it and if there are it's best to skip it, even more so since you are so close to Sumeru. Also yeah don't worry about the weapons both Ganyu and Shenhe have excellent f2p options. Especially if you have some of the event weapons they've given out in the past. Also Amos' Bow is a weapon you can get from the standard banner (which is how I got it) with some luck.

Not confirming something I say is fine, but to say no to my theory during a trailer before anyone knows the actual answer is downright stupid (which is what happened). Can't be proven either way at the time of when it was said so how can it not be an option? It's fine though. I was right and I feel vindicated. XD hmmm I hope I can still play the Lantern Rite. As long as they don't talk about plot stuff, I should be fine. < . < I'm very torn about the chronicled wish banner. Happy that I can finally get Ganyu (and hopefully Shenhe) but it's unfortunate how it works in general. I think I was just blabbing about the weapon thing. I don't think I'll realistically pull for any weapons anytime soon, especially if there's that little chance of randomly getting it some day. The weapon banner will have to be completely overhauled for the better before I try.

I'm salty about the Chronicled Wish being now and having Xiao on it because I've wished on 3 different Xiao banners by now and lost to Jean on all of them. But I WANT Mavuika more than anything and would have to save for like 3 patches to guarantee I'd get a Chronicled Wish 5*, so it doesn't feel worth it to me when it only takes special wishes, and the Fate Points reset by the next Chronicled Wish so if you lost the 50/50 and didn't have enough pulls to guarantee your 5* of choice, all those pulls went to waste.

it is such a dumb system and than most likely will the banner only last for one phase and not the entire update so you could't safe enough if you loose 50/50. the banners this update are really aimed to squeeze as much money as possible from the community. in theory chronicle wish is really a good idea for non meta or in general non popluar unit but how they choose to use that is just...

Imagine you pull for Ganyu and lose your 50/50 to Shenhe. That's what I'm hoping happens for me when I pull for Xiao. Hoping I lose my 50/50 to Baizhu. I am a little worried about losing to a non-standard banner character I don't want though. That would feel like a waste. Definitely getting Lan Yan from the 4 star selector. The only other Liyue 4 star I'm missing is Xinyan and I think I like Lan Yan's design more. Plus her kit looks fun to play. I might reshuffle my taser team from Beidou/Xingqiu/Fischl/Sucrose to Lan Yan/Fischl/Beidou or Shinobu/Xingqiu. As a leak follower I've been waiting for the second character in the silhouette lineup for two years now and I'm ecstatic he's finally being released in the near future. I was really worried they'd scrapped him by now.

I am going to pull for Mavuika, Chronicles banner (Shenhe probably) and then I'll wait for Xianyun and that lady in the center of seven shadows... I have all four-star characters except the three newest ones and Xinyan, so I'll probably do ten or twenty rolls on Clorinde's banner to get Lanyan and then get a free Xinyan hopefully.

i wouldn't go for Ganyus weapon. There are some bad weapons in the banner you could loose your 50/50 too and her weapon is Amos Bow which is in standard. So you could get it someday anyway. Ganyu can always use the craftable mondstadt bow i think.

wild that Hoyo waited two years to rerun Shenhe only to break there own rules for the Chronicles wish to put her in and not her own banner. Plus in an update with the pyro archon. They are really like "okay you can have her but don't expect us to ever rerun her again." I wanted to pull for her but not in the chronicle wish where pity is not saved and there are too many characters in it i don't really want. plus Arlecchino is in the next phase. I really hope Wriothesley doesn't suffer the same fate. It has been a year and he doesn't have even one rerun. He just had one banner and we never saw him again...

Hoyo be crazy up in here with this and not the good kind of crazy but more of the, "What are you doing?" kind. The need to have a banner that appears often and cycles through characters regularly, so even if you missed out on a character, you know that they would show up in a few weeks to a month or so, instead of years. THAT in my opinion is what the chronicled banner should have been. They have so many characters at this point that they're struggling to manage them... and by not addressing it properly, they're essentially using temptation as a scummy business tactic. Intended or not, that's the case. It's a shame.

Citlali (and Ororon) are the best characters in Natlan, gameplay aside, they just have a really fun dynamic. I'm going to pull for Citlali, she'll be my first (and only) Natlan 5*. Great for my granny collection. The chronicled wish banner is ehhh... The way they handle it leaves a lot to be desired, but I think this is a pretty good banner for new players or those who don't have a lot of Liyue 5*, because they're all pretty good imo. The weapons are not as good. If, at some point you want to get a 5* bow for Ganyu, there are many that are better for Amos. I recently got both bows from the previous banner, one for my fav granny (Faruzan). I think both of them and Yelan's are really good for Ganyu, or better than Amos as well. She's good enough with f2p bows though, so there's really no need for them. the priority should be Ganyu and Shenhe because they won't have a rerun any time soon after the special banner and if they don't do the same as they did with Wrio, Citlali will have a rerun until July max and archons always have reruns before their version ends speaking of archon, Mavuika is an excellent support for Ganyu melt if that's your style if not then Kokomi or Furina are the best supports for Ganyu freeze, with Furina being the best option

Please dont pull for Amos Bow. I really hope you get lucky and while pulling for Ganyu lose 50/50 to Shenhe and a lot of pulls would be saved, but Amos doesnt worth it. It was good in 1.x era, when we simply had nothing better. Now with her skin I didnt even like the looks of it, switched to Aqua Simulacra (Yelan's bow) even tho its not her best option. Chasca's, Lyney's and Tartaglia's bows are really good. You can get Amos as a standard drop any time afer all.

Yeah I was just rambling at that point. I don't plan on pulling for any weapons anytime soon. I have a prototype crescent leveled up for her. :)

😆i think im not gonna pull for mavuika's banner, although im saving for citlali's banner too cuz she's cute and im interested in her character as a prietess who do divinations like fortune telling. As cryo character she can also provide shields and buffs during the battlefield..

As said in the other video: Recommending against Shenhe because of her little value. She's more of a whale thing now. See my explanation there. As you seen in the preview: The middle character in the tease is definetly Skirk and she is speculated to be Cryo (not confirmed and im not sure if i do believe that, even if she is we can expect a twist there). Even ignoring my previous comment and regardless of Skirk's role, its very likely other characters will be more useful than Shenhe in a team with Citlali and Ganyu in general. There's a reason Hoyo never reran her and changed the rules for the trap Chronicled Wish so she can participate (old rule was two previous reruns, which Shenhe obviously never had). It sucks and i know people like Shenhe (i have her, but not use her at all...). Regardless wishing good luck and im also not caring about meta. So it wouldnt be a wrong choice, just an very expensive one imo. Ganyu i can at least understand especially since she's your favorite character and i do think she has other options especially with Citlali.

I don't know who Skirk is and that sounds like a spoiler. So we can leave it at that Thank you. :) For someone who says they don't care about meta it sure seems like you do. Otherwise it wouldn't matter if Shenhe was in your party or not. XD I will also pull for whoever because meta doesn't matter in this game to me. I just like to get the characters I like, and that's usually as deep as it goes. I like Shenhe as a character and that's all I need to want her in my team. AND if I stop using her someday because I want to try something else then that's just what it is. No big deal. Not that it matters because if able to I would pull for Citlali too, but I wouldn't be able to level her up any time soon anyway since I have no intention of going to Ntalan before I'm supposed to in the story. Shenhe can at least be leveled as of now if I wanted to use her. Just thought I'd elaborate my mentality as you did yours about my situation. Thank you for your insight though, I appreciate the perspective and that you're looking out for my benefit. Means a lot! If you do any pulls I wish you the best of luck!

OH WAIT I remember now. Skirk is that woman that appeared in one of those Fontaine trailers right? That's pretty cool. I know nothing about her (which is good) so it'll be fun to find out when I see her in game. :)

@@TheRoschi Yeah i can also understand yours :) The thing is while i dont care about meta, i do care about flexibility especially for daily team. And i do both Abyss & IT. So element coverage is very nice to have. Shenhe wants you to use her ideally in a freeze team, so Cryo and Hydro only, which is restrictive and annoying for exploration or even doing basic combat events. It wouldnt be as bad if they didnt change the rules for the trap banner and just gave her an normal rerun like others characters instead. It sucks they changed the rules just for her. Citlali is pretty easy to build, she basically wants EM and especially in your case TTDS (the 3 star catalyst Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers,). So at lvl 40 she wont be that useless. She will still provide your Ganyu with at least a paper shield for anti interruption, while the weapon buffs your Ganyu. Not great and you cant access her bis artifacts. But thats not too bad for Dailies/Story, while she helps a bit with exploration too. Still you could wait for her rerun if you do go for Shenhe and use Diona/Layla or i guess Thoma as shielders in the mean time, they wont do much as they cant access TTDS, but at least you can build them now or soonish(Layla in Sumeru) to keep your Ganyu uninterrupted and alive. Maybe even Lan Yan, though i didnt really check her out yet and she does need boss materials from Natlan, being a catalyst she still has access to TTDS. So might work too, albeit flimsy at lvl 40, even more so than lvl 40 Citlali. She looks fun at least and is free! So not like it hurts to try her in a daily team lol Yes Skirk is that woman. We can expect her to be strong. Not saying much else as i know you dont want spoilers^^ Still probably worth to save up, if you are interested even if you wont build her soon. I am very exited for this update, but not for mavuika, man Archons are usually very universal units with smth unique or smth the enables teams, meanwhile Mavuika is a pyro dps (all limited 5 pyro stars are dps too), she needs other natlan units and wants bennett on the team, I am not a fan of the bike but thats whatever compared to how unhappy i am with her kit, its like they took everything what made archons exiting to pull for and reversed it.

When it comes to team comps, I'm a Bennett hater at this point... YEAH, I said it. My c4 Bennett is spending time in the mines. Bennett may as well be the Heavenly Principles for how strong they made him. So because of that my c4 Bennett is spending time in the mines.

You're fine to be disappointed, but I always thought the pyro archon, the archon of war should be a dps no matter what, I've been saying it since I first heard of her and am happy that it came true. But what you say about 'all archon's should be universal units' hasn't been true for a while because of raiden, and raiden is basically the same as mavuika.
