I could not agree more. While I knew he had cancer in his leg, it was so odd how all this came about. I saw him on the Joni Lamb show while he was battling and he looked so good. Then all of a sudden he was gone. Such a great loss for us but a great addition to Heaven.

The only thing that I can't understand about John Paul is when he tells people that God says He is proud of them. I can't get passed that! How do you make God proud? I understand that He can be pleased with His children, but how can He be proud of His children when it is always by HIS power that we can do anything? Does anybody have any thoughts on this? I don't see any scripture that even hints that God might be "proud" of His children. What does he mean by this?

Yes ,Its by his power but God gives us free will...he doesnt make us do anything we dont want. NOw of course there are punishments for not obey God . But being obedient and following the ways of the lord is a way that God can be proud of us. We are his children, just like our natural parents. We listen ,were obedient etc.. they can be proud of us....

@@254dtown But, the Bible says that no one is good, except God. And, the only good in us comes from God. The only thing we can even somewhat give ourselves credit for is our faith in God. But, even that is given by God to every man. We merely choose to accept the knowledge of God or not. I don't believe God can ever be proud of man, or that we can "impress" Him in any way.

Pleased.....proud... it's all the same as being happy about something. Remember God, bragged on Job. God can be disappointed, angered, vexed, so.... he can be pleased, proud or whatever we choose to call it. What God will never be...... is surprised.
