@JubeProductions5 жыл бұрын
Yes, they seemed pretty supportive of what bam and his brother wanted to do when they were young and before they were famous and rich. Both April and Phil were involved in their kids lives and would support them anyway they could and if that meant driving to the skate park an hor away they did it. If there was a skate compitition on a sunday when the footbaal games were on Phil would skip the games and take his kids to the skate comp. Not too many parents would do this for their children today. I have a lot of friends, some of them are successful and some are fuck-ups. The ones that are successful usually had good parents that stayed married and took a role in their children's lives. I was a "bad kid" growing up and I came from a broken home. My father left when I was 8 years old. Luckily I turned out pretty good considering where I was heading. My sister on the other hand is 10 years older then me. she grew up with my mom being able to be there for her. She was a championship swimmer and went to an Ivy league college on a sports scholarship. She went on to Yale medical school and is now a board certified Level 1 trauma surgeon at a top hospital. The difference between us is that when my parents were together my father was a lawyer and my mom was a stay at home mom. SHe would be there to make breakfast when my sister was younger. She also was able to be supportive in her education and her swimming. Me on the other hand had a mother that was broken from the divorce and decided to go back to college, get her degree and then go on to law school and become a lawyer. So she didn't have time for me like she had for my sister. I was on my own for a lot of things. I spent many nights making myself dinner which usually consisted of a huge bowl of capt-n-crunch. Since I was left to my own devices I started smoking weed at an early age and that was when I realized there was more to life than what I could see. But I had to make a lot of bad decisions in order to learn a lot of life lessons that my mother should have taught me. I was neglected which is a form of abuse. So Bam was lucky to have supportive parents like April and Phil but at the end of Bams TV career the roles had switched which isn't healthy for Bam. Once April and Phil started to work for Bam and rely on Bam for a paycheck it turned their relationship into some distorted backwards child parent relationship. But Bam had a lot of love for his mother and father and he still does. Viva La Bam!

I've been clean and on the program for 4 years and will never go back to that lifestyle, but some people clean up every other week and always relapse and never get clean. I have a few friends, and family members, that the only way out was Death. And after seeing Novak out there right back at it again, it makes me think that's the same end he's going to see. I was just like, "Wow, man. You're not even gay. What are you doing and when is enough gonna be enough for you?" @eriklarson40824 жыл бұрын
@@alexpellizzari9371 No that's not how it works at all. This is coming from an opiate addict that has been through recovery and had parents that try that exact thing you stated and it never worked. It is so much deeper and complicated than just simply stopping drugs. The thing about addiction is that the addiction itself is a manifestation of a much deeper problem and until you fix that deeper problem 99% of the time you will go back to using. Novak even talks about that on one of the "Novak and Frantz show" podcast. He had a buddy that literally wanted to chain him to the fernus in the basement so he can be monitored 24 hours a day. The reason why is because nothing else worked and Novak would always find a way to get drugs and use no matter how tightly he was monitered. Even if you were to have all your money taken away and be chained up for a month or even 6 months, an addict will go back to using the second they have a chance to. Addiction is defined as inability to stop consuming a chemical, drug, activity, or substance, even though it is causing psychological and physical harm despite the fact that you want to stop. Addicts will do pretty much anything to get drugs because their impulse to use outweighs logic and reason. There is a saying in recovery that it's easier to get clean than to stay clean. Plus the statistics of people that get clean and stay clean is less than 5%.

SPOILER: We learned from the Streets of Baltimore that Novak and Frantz got jumped WHILE filming this in Baltimore by some angry jacked guys who Novak ripped off years ago. They PUMMELED Novak and threatened Frantz. They both had to literally run for their lives. Moral of the story: never go to Baltimore with bad intentions.

Joe frantz i wanna thank you for everything that you're trying to do, just getting the word out there, that this shit can happen to anyone, but i also wanna put it out there that anyone can recover, i myself have a pretty fucked up, roller coaster of a story, but im 29 n have been using for about 15 years. I thought i would use for the remainder of my life. I thought, without a doubt, a heroin overdose would be the cause of my death. They say all junkies have a death wish, well i truly did. Now, i might only have 70 days clean, but i am well on my way to getting my life back on track, n hope to never look back. Hopefully brandon will one day want it bad enough to put it down n never pick back up. It hasn't been easy, it takes time n work, n most people still dont trust me (i don't blame them ). Today i am grateful for every day i can wake up not sick, not having to go hustle just to get a fix. Don't give up hope, just be there for him when he's truly ready to surrender. Thanks again for your message.

Congrats on your 70. I have something like 125 days. I really liked and related to alot of what u said. We ( addicts ) always have alot in common when it comes to this daily war we wage. Thanks and kudos!

Scolding an addict just tears at the relationship, increases the schism between the addict and his family/friends. And lastly only makes the addicts personal disgust heavier. I understand they required brandon to follow the rules of the house and that. But unfortunately / fortunately they haven’t experienced a heroin addiction to understand, until he’s clean, he’s still going to be using .

joe franz really rubs me the wrong way, he seems like an elitist and looks down on everyone around him, not just Novak. I love the fact that even tho in his mind he's better then novak in every way, if it wasn't for Novak, he wouldn't have had made any money from publishing the biographical novel that is based on Novaks life and his struggle with addiction. I dont know him in real life, so I can't say if my feelings towards him and how he acts are true, but I can say that I've been a fan of the cky/jackass world since i bootlegged the orinigal cky movie on limewire in middle school and have watched everything thats been released since then and I have always gotten douche chills from Franz. That being said, I know he cares a lot about Novak and has helped him in ways that I probably wont ever know the extent of, so he's not a bad guy, I just think he's kindof vain
@ryanpeters88555 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can tell he's so fake in this. He talks like he's acting. Even though what he's saying is true he has to put this dramatic spin on the way he talks like he's trying to win an oscar or something.

You couldn't be more wrong. Check out their podcast together. Joe never gave up on Novak. You can tell he's genuine from the podcasts. Novak is in a better place now that he's sober. Joe has a part in that.

I too was a heroin addict for about 8 years. I'm now on methadone and I go to counseling, literally saved my life. I lead a full and normal life now with no cravings. Hope Novak is actually clean now. A junkie will lie to everyone nonstop to get another fix, addiction is a real disease.

They have to want it themselves. Addicts can fool normies for a while, but they can't fool their fellow addict/alcoholic. That's the part about AA that works. The steps help, but it's really having someone who can see right through your shit when even you can't.

For anyone who doesn't know, what April described about Novak running water. It's what junkies do to shoot up behind a locked door. A "shower" is the best excuse to be in the bathroom for that long. Seen it too many times. So glad Novack snapped out of it. He's almost 5 years sober now, hell yeah brother✌
