Luke Davies True, bands like BTBAM, Native Construct, and UnexpecT will push the evelope further yet, but i just love how Dream Theater manages to take so much and blend it together so seamlessly.
@lukedavies66468 жыл бұрын
VZedshows Really loved Native Construct's debut last year. Unique, charismatic vocals, super solid drums, decent concept. Look forward to their future work. BTBAM's Coma Ecliptic was a little lacklsuter, I feel like they haven't quite hit the same stride since Colours. I enjoyed The Astonishing but I think it was let down a little by some production choices. Don't like the guitar tone at all, especially not on the solos.

This whole album is a masterpiece. So many songs that are unlike anything else they have ever done. This album is in the dictionary next to the word EPIC. My favorite thing they have created since Images & Words and Awake. Never heard JLB sing like this either. I don’t know how after 28 years a band can still create music that is new and fresh. Astonishing.
@dp-yv9gz9 жыл бұрын
This entire album showcases why DT is 1) underrated and 2) Just on top of creating music. Nothing in the rest of their 12 album catalog comes close to what this does. There's not much heaviest stuff in there but pure emotion. The 5 or 6 really great tracks (like this one) carry the entire album which is no slouch on it's other stuff. They can truly do anything and i'm anxiously waiting their next album. But first 34 tracks of music to absorb over the next year. Thank you DT!

By far the best song on the Astonishing imho. I Really like this concept album-idea, of creating something totally new. It really feels like a "rock-opera" as they described it. I just don't get it, why so many people judge this album so badly. This isn't supposed to be just normal DT-studio album anyway! I think this sounds just the way it was meant to be sounding!
@bonedoc45569 жыл бұрын
Because they're judging it on first listen and what they want to hear rather than growing with it. Dream Theater has always fine something different each album to make you think and after absorbing it a while you jump right back in.

+EwoKeys This Album has actually gotten very, very, good reviews by critics, problably the best of any DT album ever. The Ratings go from 8/10 to 10/10.
