Somebody in the industry told me that these are, as you said, simply Swarovski Crystals repackaged. I didn’t even ask the person and they told me. They pointed out that even the product photos are the same!!

@@SpacePickleDesigns i think that dreamtime crystals are swarovski, but they renamed it because swarovski prohibited the sale of their crystals, leaving the sellers with a lot of stock

@@CupheadCL I don't think Swarovski can prohibit the selling of stock already bought. There is no EU law that would accommodate that. They aren't selling to the DIY market any more; if you qualify to buy their factory packs of the few shapes they still manufacture, you have to sign a Brand Control contract, precluding breaking the packs up and reselling to the DIYers. Swarovski simply stopped manufacturing what the beaders were using, or limited to whom they were sold, i.e. only luxury companies. I've seen any numbers of "vintage" and "old stock" and "factory pack, discontinued color" listings from Swarovski resellers, both in France, and Rhode Island, for several years--anyone can sell their existing crystals. There shouldn't be so much mystery about this. Where does this mom who used to make skater costumes source her crystals? Chinese only do basics, and too often you can tell at a glance it's not Austrian, I know of one Egyptian company--even more basic, four colors--the Czech are scrambling to innovate but have their own colors and Preciosa is too big to dream of going into competition against. Where is this Dreamtime factory, or is it an umbrella concept for various manufacturers? Enquiring minds need to know! But oh, main thought--those two bracelets are just so beautiful!!!!

They are pretty close....I think the Dreamtime Crystal is on MY left and the Swarovski is on MY right.

Dreamtime is not new but they have gotten better with the coating on the back...I had to throw some away.

The Dreamtime Crystal is absolutely new. It’s just been released. The company Dreamtime Creations has been around for years and they sell various crystal brands. But the “Dreamtime Crystal” is new. Although I’m sorry. I’ve seen these crystals in person. And they have to be Swarovski. They are the same.

I’m honestly not sure - I have bought some “Austrian Crystal” from retailers to do rhinestone tumblers with and they are around the same price and look the same as Swarovski. Everyone that I know in the industry is suggesting it is the same Crystal just under a different or unbranded name.

@@SpacePickleDesigns that’s what I think also..I have asked so many places that question if they are just under a different name and they never deny it..they just say it’s the same quality. Where do you find the best prices? So far I have found a few places that are pretty cheap if I’m buying like 144 for $6. Thank you ❤️

I don't know for sure but I was thinking they can't respond because they signed an agreement with Swarovski never to associate their name with the product..

Maybe so! It was just weird because they’ve always been so quick to respond before. Their customer service has always been really good.

@@SpacePickleDesigns and think about it, Swarovski has a patent on their "cuts" that's why preciosa and others don't have cut like Swarovski. Those cuts look the same to me.

@@LaSweetable that’s a good point! I was wondering if this is why the “new” Dreamtime Crystal is more expensive…maybe some kind of agreement?? Where Swarovski gets paid a tad more in exchange for Dreamtime to allow them to keep selling their product??? The other thing I was thinking: That’s a CRAZY amount of stock left over for them to just abandon as of October 1. Like, how many businesses truly qualified to sign the brand control agreement and keep buying? I mean, truly…how much money would they lose on all of those crystals already in existence, even if they stopped making them for us to buy? It just makes no sense. To me, it only makes sense that they would need a way to “get rid of it” quietly. Enter a “new brand” from Dreamtime Creations. Anyway Either way, whether we are right or wrong, I’m so happy to have an identical replacement (if it’s not actually the same)! Just checked today and they have various shapes of Majestic Blue, Sunflower, Light Peach and Crystal Blue Shade!! All colors that I’ve been hoarding from Swarovski. So hopefully they roll out more and more!
