Can’t wait to see the upgrades you have planned! I’m currently building a diy dredge/high banker setup myself. Would you recommend that harbor freight pump for a 2” dredge?
@X4PROSPECTING2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s what I run, the 2” dredge nozzle with a 1” predator pump. Works great!

Didn’t know if you men realized Lacrosse is having a 25% off sale online this weekend!? I wear those same boots as you all do all the time trapping and I always stock up when they have a sale.

Good morning, success is always ok ☺️☺️

The nozzle seems a bit underpowered with this pump and the highbanker is too narrow. Typically for 2 inch nozzle you need 1.5 inch high pressure pump and 10 inch wide sluice. Also, you should place the sluice down to water level. Lifting the material high is bad for efficiency.
@X4PROSPECTING2 жыл бұрын
Yep we made that adjustment in the latest videos. It works, and we are all about experimenting on this channel, far from typical setups. The box itself is far from typical, a river sluice that is made to have a Highbanker hopper attached to it. Just saying it works for what we are doing and didn’t cost $1000+. Thanks for the advice though!

I mean y'all do this as a hobby but like what little you find does it even pay the expenses? I get you're probably getting some monetization from KZbin but still.
@X4PROSPECTING2 жыл бұрын
We do this as a hobby, the money or ROI is not part of anything we do. This is our escape from work stress and having fun together with friends. Think of it as fishing, or any other hobby. Personally I do it as an escape from work stress, and I film to share my experiences and tips for everyone else that may find it interesting. Also, I keep all my gold, I’ll never sell it. I plan to pass it down to my kid(s) when I get older and they can go back and see how I found all the gold I have. That was and has always been the plan for me.

@X4PROSPECTING gotcha, that's what I thought, I enjoy watching, wasn't knocking what you were doing. Something I've always been interested in too so I'm learning from y'all.
@X4PROSPECTING2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I understand, just wanted to explain my reasoning. I didn’t get the feeling that your comment was knocking me of anything, thanks for watching. 👍, it’s a fun hobby

@X4PROSPECTING if you're interested in gold mining history check out whiskey creek cabin and Rogue river ranch on the internet. They did some pretty ingenious Placer mining with flume ditches and high pressure nossels using nothing but gravity.
@X4PROSPECTING2 жыл бұрын
I’ll definitely check that out. I like watching the hydro blasting and channeling of materials into a flume. That was an effective and easy way to mine for the gold
