Me neither, but I thought anything was better than it stuck on, if I had my time again I would have integrated it in the frame

New to the channel, only discovered it 3 days ago. What a find. Kept me entertained while stuck in with full blown manflu. Have watched the full build on the CX500 over the last two days, absolutely brilliant! Id never have beleived the CX could look so good. Got a slight look of the Guzzi V7 Racer. Thats a compliment. Great work.

Hope the man flu is better, I'll take that Guzzi comment, appreciate it

My Yamaha had the light integrated into the seat. I had to use quick-connect ends on the wiring so I could remove the seat for maintenance, etc. not the greatest way to do it, but it works, and your looks really good. I'm definitely integrating my BMW rear light into the frame.
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
If I was to build the bike again I would go into the frame also.
@ChaoticDetour6 жыл бұрын
That turned out better than I thought. I was concerned the fabric wouldn’t sit right and would be difficult to tension. 👍🏼
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
My concern also that it would rip under tension but worked ok
@Rob-hx6on6 жыл бұрын
Could have used a small hole punch and made a series of holes in the seat for the light to shine through making it look less visible, just a thought.
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
Is a nice thought, I've seen something similar be done on another bike.

Hey man you are a good dude for telling people that they may not get there item in time for Christmas if they order now. Love the way the light turned out. Good luck on the photo shoot.

I think honesty is best, had a few deliveries that's taking longer than usual so I can see it getting worse the closer to xmas. :)

Looks good sticked in, but did you just cut leather and not tucked it in to the foam? Looks great lights on, but how about without?
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
Thought about that but it’s fake leather with a canvas material behind. Wouldn’t stretch into the gap

Looks good! But do you think the hot glue is gonna keep it together through all the flexes and stretches in the material? Can't the seams be stitched or something so that it doesn't rip?
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
The hot Glue is only to hold the light in place and a tiny bit for the foam, the material is held down with some old school Cow Gum

Yo man! Hello again from Northern California I have a question about the music you have been using, can you share the source I would love to download some tracks of your collection. Thank you for the CX motivation, I’m right behind you. Keep up the great work.
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
Hey, they're all free from KZbin creator studio, check it out, you can download them all from there.
@woodywoodpecker27086 жыл бұрын
Nicely executed install, as always. I'll be honest and say I'm not entirely sold, would have liked the break light better down inside the rear loop. The video was great though. I like the music, it's adding a lot of drama ("he has the photo shoot, he cannot fail - is it going to work..?"). I was sweating. Keep it up!
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
If I was to build it again that's where it would preferably be. in the hoop.
@NASTYcraftX6 жыл бұрын
Too late but I think if you carved out the recesses in the foam, then pressed the light into it over the vinyl, it would have been much cleaner. No need to cut the vinyl.
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough I did think of that but the vinyl didn't have enough stretch I thought as it has fabric on the reverse, I did wonder if a heat gun would have worked also. Worth investigating.
@NASTYcraftX6 жыл бұрын
@@forthebold oh I didn't even think about it not stretching. Ya heat gun could work.

Am i the only one who is scared die moisture going in the foam of the seat?
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
It's pretty tightly sealed, and the foam is pretty water repellent. plus I'm hardly going to be taking it out in the rain, I've got the Ducati for that. (and cars)
@bobdobbs73786 жыл бұрын
Big scissors for a job like that but looking good and yes not so sure about the hot glue gun it’s not the best
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
Only pair of tailors scissors I had that were sharp enough. I’ll see how the glue lasts but I wanted it to be instant on the light.
@manolisvosnakidis65406 жыл бұрын
i think that if you didn't cut the leather from the seat and glue the rear light on top of the leather the final result would be a little bit better just cutting the foam glue the leather on top of plastic seat base and then glue the rear light i wish you understand the procedure
@forthebold6 жыл бұрын
I did initially think of that (another person commented the same) but looking at the material it wouldn't have stretched enough into the space.
@manolisvosnakidis65406 жыл бұрын

Seems fine to me. I don’t wash my bike with a jet hose or anything but it’s weather proof

Haha, feel sorry for you Brits and your billboard rego plates. You ever seen a Queensland (Australia) motorcycle rego plate? They're tiny by comparison. Bike looks awesome though, really risky cutting the seat cover but you pulled it off exceptionally.
