We are pleased to introduce our new instrument - DREMA.
DREMA is our interpretation of the sound of the Soviet electric organ Lel from the 80s. Despite the simplicity of the original instrument, we have done everything possible to unleash its full potential.
This project is a deep dive into the 80s, a time of beginnings, shocks, and changes that led us to this strange and fragile world we live in now. The sound design is inspired by the films of Andrei Tarkovsky and Soviet space adventure movies, creating an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and futuristic.

When recording the instrument, we used extensive vintage equipment, mostly from the Soviet era in the Eastern Bloc. The original instrument was recorded using a Hungarian EAG console made in 1973. We also used several reel-to-reel tape recorders and a wire recorder, a rare Soviet combo amp with a ribbon microphone, modular synthesizer and analog filters and effects. As a final touch, all sounds were run through a chain of equalizers and tube & transistor compressors and a Studer tape machine. The basis for the sound design was a modular synthesizer with a large amount of equipment and effects.
DREMA has seven versions of the organ recorded on different equipment and 28 unique sound layers based on these recordings.
