+Luke Tube I bought one a few weeks ago and just opened it. Have to say the manual is worthless, first thing I did was look here. The tools wouldn't fit the collet as it was mashed into the retainer. Seeing the video it made sense to press it out and drop it into the Dremmel. I do have a "Prinz" knockoff but it is a feeble little thing compared to the Dremmel. Excellent "Get-You-Started" tutorial, thanks Dave

I got the 3000 kit as a christmas present about 4 years ago, looked at it, decided quite quickly that it actually was rocket science, and put it in the cupboard to gather dust. Then today, the little gremlin on the shoulder said, the dremel would be ideal for that, snide gremlin, i knew he was right. Go it out, heart sinking, chest anxiety rising. Then I watched your brilliant video, and the rest is history. Thanks so much.

Celtic Dreams Just got mine today! Recommended by a guy at Lowe's. I had never seen, or heard of them before (I can't believe it! ), and I told him that I was working on a popsicle stick house for my hamster, and needed something that I can saw into it, to avoid the pressures of using an exacto knife. He said, can I show you something cool, that I think will be perfect for you? I said, absolutely, appreciate it! He took me to the Dremel 3000 on sale from $69, to $49, and he too could've been a spokesman for Dremel lol You guys should be paid! He even told me to look at KZbin videos, and that I would be amazed on everything that I will be able to do! You guys have got me so excited about this darn thing, but out of the box the collet was stuck, but of course I didn't know that, and was afraid to turn and break something. But seeing your video showed me what I could take apart with no damage, and viola! Popped it out, stuck it back in, and bam! Just like that I have me a DREMEL 3000! Haha thanks so much!

I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. kzbin.infoUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.

This is a brilliant informative demo Dave that tells you exactly what you need to know without needless waffle. Highly recommended thank you, can't wait to get started with my dremmel, have you any videos/techniques on drilling with diamond tips?
@CelticDreamsCoUk8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I don't' have any specific videos on using diamond tips. But here are a few things I've discovered in my own drilling and engraving. The diamond covered burrs aren't as tough as you'd like them to be. The diamond particles are bonded to the burr and will eventually wear off. So tip one, is gently does it. Too much pressure will just strip the particles and leave you with a bare metal burr. work slowly and let the tool do the work. Typically you will be working with hard materials such as rock, minerals and glass. hence its important to keep the material damp, with a sponge or cloth. I now many glass engravers do this under running water, but i cant endorse using a plug in power tool under running water. Obviously if engraving glass it vital to dampen the dust as you don't want to inhale it. A damp sponge also helps to keep the drill cool. A diamond bit cuts with an abrasive grinding action rather than a sharp cutting action, so they do generate heat. Hope all this helps. Dave.

Jealous of it..made others jealous too, I guess...(jealous is not the right word though..) I admire a man who also takes care of 'himself'..respects himself..

Thank you Dave. I spent a couple of frustrating hours reading the manual and puzzling over the box of bits that came with it. Your vid clarified it perfectly. Reassuring and pleasant to hear a northerner too.

Thank you, I've never used a Dremel, had difficulty finding someone who actually explained the purpose for each part as well as how to install each part. Your details are Excellent! I purchased the 4000 but your instructions helped me figure things out. THANKS!!!!

@@CelticDreamsCoUk I was going to ask if you could use the Dremel to trim one's finger nails. Indeed a nice sounding fellow who would sound a lot better with a decent mic. All in all nice video. Thanks for shooting and sharing.

Thanks for that. I have just bought a Dremel 7700 it came with just a basic booklet that really only centred on the safety and not what all the bits did. I am a complete novice and I had no idea how to use it. Thanks to you I now know what I am doing!

+lully381 Thanks for the comments, that's why I did it. The manuals are pretty useless. So much easier to see someone using it and showing you what the bits are. Thanks for watching. : ) Dave.

Perfect tutorial! I just got my 3000 2/28 with the nice hard case. I've never even touched one before and I look forward to using this one for a lot of little things pending around the house. I haven't turned it on yet! Reading up on it. I can't emphasize more the need for safety gear. This kit came with the cutting accessory and the grinding accessory. The 2/28 designation is for those two accessories and 28 extras, like the 561, the 402, three different grades of sanding tubes, some rouge, the wrench and various pink and diamond grit sanders, engraving mandrels. Wow. Tomorrow I'm going to attack the plastic derailleur cable guide below the bottom bracket on the bicycle so I can get the mid-motor installed. Thanks Dave.

Yes good point on safety. a cutting disc revolving at thousands of rpm, can be a hazard if used incorrectly. and you always get bits flying off so safety glasses are essential. Dave
