I’m down 57 pounds. I don’t eat out and eat a very strict elimination lifestyle. Joint pain gone. Skin is shrinking with my weight loss. I was insulin resistant. Many many months later, I’m still IR, but I’m also so much more improved. We did keto diet years ago, lost quite a bit of weight, fell off keto wagon. Gained it all back. But this time, my mind is right. I’m eating lots of eggs, chicken, fish and veggies. My fam is not on the same page, but they are slowly getting on board. I cook all the food they eat from scratch. So at least I know they are getting nutrient dense foods. This lifestyle has changed our lives. It’s not a diet. Diets are temporary, lifestyle is a way of life. My mindset is different, I’ve been delivered of strongholds! 🎉

I began the process of losing weight in Feb. 2022. Main reason was to trigger autophagy in my body; most importantly to help heal or reduce inflammation in my knees (osteoarthritis). As of Jan 2023 I lost 62 pounds. The arthritis hasn't gotten worst, nor has it gotten better but importantly the knees are worst. I FASTED as much as 72 hours and as little as 16 hours. For now, my FASTING period is 16hrs ON/8hrs OFF. I'm facing this loose skin problem right now. This video just validated my need to increase the intensity of my spin bike & weight lifting workouts, including my 1-2 hour walking workouts. 👍👍👍👍👍

I'll say this, I'm convinced dieting and exercise to change weight is a waste of time. Every time it leads to the same result of gaining the weight back. I did the intermittent and prolonged fasting following Dr. Bergs videos and it not only worked it changed my metabolism to where I know 100% that I'll never go back to my eating and dieting habits. I recently learned this by eating my old way on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was miserable for 2 days from all the sugar and insulin I spiked by eating every couple of hours. I was eating socially and not because of hunger and paid the price. Never again, I cannot eat breakfast anymore and I don't eat after 6:00 PM. Some call this an 18:6 intermittent fast and some say it's too much restriction but it has done me so good and I feel so much better on it. Don't change your diet and try a few exercises rather hijack and supercharge your mitochondria changing your metabolism and you will never look back.

I agree with your video. I'm 55 and still losing weight to meet my goal of 200but I KNOW it has to be done slowly. My weight has always fluctuated. In my 20's 30's losing weight fast was not a problem but I noticed in my 40's wasn't coming off as easily. Now in my 50's any drastic change leads to & shows aging & sagging skin (seen this on other people in the gym). Listening to them, I knew that I had to lose weight differently. I strength train 4-5 days a week heavy lifting). Go to bed early to try & get 7-8 hrs sleep (if i don't get it - I nap during the day & seems to be the BEST 'dead' sleep I get, so I don't fight sleepyiness). I do watch my portions. Fasting is really hard but do what I can. Avoiding the results of losing weight by aging & sagging skin is a day to day fight but possible ONLY if you're patient enough to lose 1-2 lbs/week. Sometimes, your lost weight will plateau & this really hurts the ego ( I know) so ignore it - it'll get back on track. Patience, eating healthy food even in moderation, rest your body as much as you can (which will vary from day to day) and moving around (keep mobile) will help ALOT in preventing ageing & sagging skin. So DON'T LOSE WEIGHT FAST - it only affects your ego, doesn't do anything for the rest of the body.

Keep it up and don't lose focus. However how come boxers lose weight fast to prepare for a fight and they don't have loose skin. They do sparing, boxing, roadwork doing running. They're in the gym doing weights and they don't have loose skin. They lose their weight in three/four months.

Hi Dr. Berg, I just wanted to thank you. I had a pretty bad health issue last week and I just happened along your videos on KZbin while searching for the reason for my pain and discomfort. I ended up watching so many of your videos and they sincerely helped me figure out exactly what was wrong with me, and how to deal with it. Not only that, but I just wanted to let you know that the information you gave me was life-changing. I am actually on day 5 of eating zero sugar, zero carbs, understanding why I should do that, and I also quit drinking alcohol which was a big deal for me because I had been overindulging for years. I'm pretty sure alcohol was the cause of the problem that I had last week, and I have always wished that I could quit drinking but I never had the information that you so plainly gave me, as a reason strong enough to quit for good. My plan is not only to get healthier and lose weight, but I also want to pass on to others the information that you so generously provided, especially in the layman's terms that you use. You're a blessing!! And I hope you know it and I thank you up and down in huge amounts. When I was at church today, I passed along your name to a good friend who experienced angina for the first time. After Mass we all went to the Parish breakfast, and I had planned ahead of time and made a salad full of arugula, and hid it in my purse.😂 When I got to the cafeteria line I asked for "just eggs" and the Knights of Columbus cocked their heads real funny and looked at me strangely and said," Just eggs?" I didn't tell them about the salad I had hidden in my purse. I also didn't get in trouble and was allowed to bring my own food.😂 Anyway, God bless you and thank you so much for everything you're doing. That's exactly how you're getting to heaven!!!! P.s. Get a load of what the knights were serving: eggs, pork sausage, pork bacon, tater tots, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fruit cocktail in the syrup, lots of juices, and at the very end, donuts. Oh my Lord, your words were ringing through my head as I looked at the lineup. If you ask me, proper nutrition should be part of the Catholic curriculum, if we really cared about each other's bodies, being we are the body of Christ. Hmmmmm!! ❤❤❤❤

Dr. Berg, i will never do surgery... i'm 51 and i know it will take long time for my skin to shrink up. I lost in less than 5 months on ketovore/now carnivore, about 57 lbs, healthy way. But becouse my spinal surgery, i only do walks everyday with 3lbs arms weight. Thank you dr. Berg💪💪💪

Great 👍 Possibly, some of his videos on post surgeries and on the spine can help? Also, some of his videos on skin?

Something you might not be aware of in regard to loose skin. When people go through radiation from cancer, it happens then too. My husband was fit and no loose skin. He went through radiation for cancer and his skin changed and became very loose. It happened also with a friend of mine who was fit and thin before cancer. She had radiation and chemo and her skin became very loose. Radiation does something to the elasticity in the skin.
@ZoeMC3698 ай бұрын
I’m sorry he had to go through that 😢 i wonder if some of these strategies would help him too. I’m also suffering from loose skin as a result of an autoimmune condition triggered by radiofrequency/laser. I was also fit with good skin before.

No radiation deteriorates your body making you frail. Instead of radiation for cancer just don't eat fruits veggies sugars processed foods no grains no bread. Just eat meat fat salt and water. It'll cure them of cancer and bring back their body they had and make it better.

At 5:35 it says "Vitamin A" with a picture of a carrot. As Dr. Berg rightly says in this video, there is no Vitamin A (retinol) in carrots or any plant food (only pre-vitamin A carotenoids which have varying (but often low) absorption and conversion rates within the body.

Just FYI - HIIT can easily be done just by being a homesteader on a mountain - up the hill, feed the animals, down the hill, work the garden, up the hill, install fence, etc.

I'm 46 "5 10, I was 278lbs at my highest weigh in, this morning I weighed 212 (66lbs off, although I'm at the end of a 48 hour fast so probably you can add a pound or 2 back), I started feb 11, the day of writing is 30th July, so just a little under 6 months, I'm starting to get a little concerned about loose skin, I can see a little in the sides of my belly, it's pretty slight but I'm just praying it shapes back, my job prevents me from getting good sleep every night because of varying start times, I'd say on average I get 3 nights a week with only 5 hours, the rest is around 7 hours, I can get out of this job but it may take 12 months, all your other advice I follow, hoping I can avoid loose skin or if I do get a significant amount it will snap back fairly quickly, thanks for all your great advice, your videos have quite literally been a life saver, cheers Dr Berg

I am more interested in strategies to minimizing loose skin while dieting. Since skin is replaced every 3 months or so I am trying to lose weight slowly while using resistance exercise to build muscle in my arms and chest to help those areas a bit. I would love to hear of more ideas along those lines.

I'm gonna watch this all later. What's very interesting is last year I damaged my gut badly ontop of what I know now to be ME. Ontop of all the severe symptoms last year I don't wish to recall (but luckily had enough self knowledge inc. fasting to improve) I developed very sagging skin, partially because I couldn't eat and lost weight so fast but also something to do with gut bacteria being wiped out I think? I accidentally damaged my gut with bicarb soda then got a fungus infection from blue cheese and similar because I didn't realise how badly I'd wiped out my my gut bacteria from the bicarb soda. This was intop of already health conditions I now know to be what sufferers call "ME" otherwise I now know to be an overload of toxicity, viral, bacterial, fungal infections in the body and possibly weakness in liver, detox etc. from this. Thanks to Dr berg and others for the fasting knowledge and to Chinese Medicine for helping me with cause and fix. Perhaps Dr Berg could do a video on ME which I now know is the western name of the severe problems I've had from this since teens or younger. I swear I have so much self knowledge on what the causes (stress, viral etc.), issues (toxicity, immune system, detox issues etc.) and fixes are (fasting, acupuncture, herbs, diet, etc.wherever possible) inc. Chinese medicine tells me similar but not with this name, they say problems with liver or whichever organ inc. immune system and overtoxicity inc. largely your Emotional state, which greatly influences your ability to recover or remain in sickness. I listen to and thank Naturopaths and Chinese medicine for this. Dr berg please do a video on ME which is related to but is not necessarily the same as CFS which I only have sometimes as a predecessor to ME, and I remember having CFS and related symptoms directly after chicken pox at 12 years old, I could hardly move, then it developed into what I now know as ME.
