😅 it comes at random times. At the beginning of the year, my sewjo was seriously lacking. So when I get a bout of energy, I try to take advantage of it and sew as much as I can.

Did you allocate your length adjustments in the bodice?

That's the reason I do not use New Look patterns at all. NL pattern for a drawstring pant omitted the back pant pattern, good grief.

They can be frustrating. Every once in a while, I find a good one, especially if it's a repeat from a different brand. But goodness, that was a horrible pattern. 😕

I veer toward simpler dress patterns especially with pattern prices increasing. Uncomplicated, they often seem to showcase fabric and the design of dress better. They keep my anxiety down where I can enjoy the construction process. Wrap dresses can be tricky.

Don't I know it! When I saw the Mccall's patterns on sale for $3.99 last week, I just about fell out. I'm not ready for this, again! Happy sewing

I enjoy learning about what worked for you and what didn't - including the dress that didn't even get a picture! I was sewing a Simplicity t-shirt dress a few years ago - sewed the side and shoulder seams, tried it on to check the fit, and immediately took the thread out of the machine and gave the pattern away 😄. It just wasn't for me.

That's exactly how that new look pattern went for me. Once I did that fit check and realized it wasn't going to fit appropriately, I put it to the side and thought, "Is this pattern even worth it?" Some patterns I don't mind making the necessary adjustments for and others I feel are way too simplistic to put hours of work into them.
