Dressage Is For Everyone - Charity Demo at Manor Lodge Arena in aid of the Cavalier Centre Project

In August of 2018, Emma Woolliscroft of EKW Dressage held a Charity Dressage Demonstration at Manor Lodge Arena in Shropshire in aid of the Cavalier Centre Project in memory of Georgia Walton who sadly passed away following an RTC.
The Cavalier Centre Project is a state of the art RDA centre which allows riders of various disabilities and learning difficulties to learn to ride, drive and vault. Allowing people with disabilities to ride and be around horses helps them tremendously with both their physical and mental development.
Emma is incredibly proud of hers and Carol Haines (Manor Lodge's proprietor) achievements in raising nearly two thousand pounds which went towards the building of the Cavalier Centre.
Emma's goals for this demonstration was to make dressage more accessible for the every day rider by explaining the complexities of the sport in a simplistic way.
The demo starts with Emma's own horse, Carmen of Westoak, who at the time was working at Novice level. Emma and Carmen show the basics of dressage and demonstrate ways in which to train a young horse. The demo then swiftly moves onto more advanced horses with a mare called B ridden by her owner Rachel Tarbuck who (at the time) was working at Medium level. Rachel and B demonstrate some of the more advanced dressage movements including half pass and Emma explains how the basics relate to the advanced movements. Lastly, Emma is joined by Carrie Turner who rides her own advanced horse Galante. Carrie shows some of the more advanced movements in dressage inclduding piaff and pirrouettes and Emma talks through how the basics can be turned into the fancy dance maneuvers which we see in the Grand Prix.
