Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included

i think sometimes we forget this is what true 'farmhouse" style was, using/reusing what you have.

I love watching you work Mary. Until recently, I had a garage full to the brim of furniture and items I had planned to make over or upcycle, but over the past few years my health has become more and more complicated and I got to the point a couple of years ago where I could no longer physically do many of the things I love and enjoy. I held on to the furniture for so long, hoping that somehow things would improve but it hasn’t been the case. I went through a grieving process as I let go of who I was and the things I could do in the past. Finally about 3 weeks ago I felt ready to say goodbye to my furniture stash and pass the items on to people who could make better use of the items, rather than gathering dust hiding away in my garage. It’s coming up on 3 weeks since I listed my first pieces and they have literally flown out the door. Many things that I thought may need to go in the skip have sold for great prices and I have a wonderful little fund building up (over $1500 so far) to set myself up in my craft room with something that is more physically achievable for me. I am thinking of a Cameo Silhouette, as I still have a great collection of wooden pieces (old cabinet doors, panels, blocks of wood etc) that I could stencil or add lettering or designs to. But for now I will continue to live vicariously through your videos as you inspire me with your energy, talents and wonderful ideas. (The garage is over 1/2 empty now and I will continue to list my items to make room in my life for new possibilities to enter) ❤️

Thank you for being a inspiration to all of us. While watching, I thought of how God, if we let him, does the same thing for all of us, take something that is broken and dirty and cleans us all up into something beautiful. Sure got my day off to a fantastic start.

This is going to bring someone a great deal of happiness. You saved a piece from the landfill, made it useful again, and though not it’s original beauty, made it beautiful again. Great job.

Fantastic! You remind me of my mother, who left this earth more than 20 years ago, but who was always busy and "up to something." She was an excellent, self-taught seamstress. She was a terrific cook, grew and canned fruits and vegetables and made jellies. She brought a lot of beauty to life. I would so love to be more like her. My health doesn't allow me to be up to something very often these days, but I have her spirit and inspiration. She was a godly woman and I cherish her memory. Keep on making beautiful things. You are a blessing.

I took your idea to a dresser that had a laminated top and took out the drawers, love the electric saw thing, made a shelf and now my cats have place with a cozy bed, and they took over the top as well so I moved it to a window, they love it! Cleaned up the drawers, put on small wheels, now under bed storage! Took only and hour. Nothing for the land fill!! Now on the hunt for the island idea! Thanks for sharing!!!!! By the way , husband took the saw back because I was walking around the house with it looking for something to cut apart! Lol

Is anyone else sad that someone didn't take good care of this amazing antique? It pains me that these gems are going away under white paint unless there is no way to salvage them. You did this piece right, Mary! It looks great!

It takes a special person to be able to se the potential of an old piece of furniture in that rough shape. But it takes a person with a true gift to make it as beautiful as you did! You really brought out the charm of the piece, the old, worn & loved kind of feel. Great work, as always! 💐❤️

I've wanted to add a small island or bar to my small kitchen for many years, this would be perfect and I love the rustic look of this piece. Great job Mary.

Mary I love your creative frugalness. Junk furniture to beautiful resource. I so admire your creativity and work ethic. I hope to visit your area at some time in the future. May God continue to bless your talents!

Beautiful result Mary, just gorgeous, perfectly flawed as "they" say. I did this with an old buffet just last fall when we renovated our kitchen. My son works for a flooring company and was able to bring me a piece of flooring that was ripped out of a school. The top of the buffet was pretty bad so I sanded down the old floor for a butcher block look. Thanks for sharing it was fun.
