BTW: Your comments about getting herbs from the store reminded me sooo much of my mom. Just to see what she'd say, I showed her one of these hoodoo books I'd bought when I didn't know any better. She flipped through it and said, "Why are they making things so damned complicated? All you need to do is just get the stuff from the kitchen." I knew right then and there that I had been totally overlooking - and taking for granted - the knowledge I'd grown up around (I'm from Memphis). I'd been getting all these books and things and not realizing that if I had just paid attention growing up, I'd have the knowledge I needed. I'm piecing things together now, trying to remember things from my childhood, etc, and writing them down. Thank you so much for keeping our history alive.

I see these "dressed" candles online and I'm not surprised people are not burning their houses down. Too much fluff. Hoodoo is simple, practical and to the point. The bible is all you need! Although I am Jewish and only pray from the Tanakh over my lamps, the whole Bible has power for those who know how to use it to tap into G-d. Your going to put these online shops out of business if you keep going the way you do.. :) Please keep making more videos! Blessings!

Your message resonates. You mentioned like intention setting is a way to bless a candle without any other thing except that. I had a dear christian friend who was hoodoo but she didn't realize it. She blessed a candle for me and she gave it to me. She put nothing except her "prayer" on the candle. I like a lot of stuff. I can appreciate the confidence inspired by sheer intention in many cases as being a powerful candle dressing

She “was hoodoo”? What does that mean? And someone can pray over a candle for you and it have nothing to do with hoodoo. Prayer is universal.

Yes, I loaded my candle with lots of oils and herbs, it burned like a Gordon Ramsey frying pan 😅 I've always been a perfectionist that it stunts my growth and keeps me from getting the job done. I know many teachers that follow so many protocols and sometimes it's just not realistic for me. I love how easy going you are with the work and still accomplish great things! I love the learning I get. I’m just starting out and hadn’t studied anything, the first tinting I learned to do was to use a bay leaf, I just fell in tot he practice of dressing my candles with those ashes. I’m not sure it does anything but I’m drawn to do it, it helps intensify my intentions for me.
