Replica of the ball gown from Wort, which was made by Nikita Ivanovsky (Minsk, Belarus).
The video shows the layers that the lady puts on to achieve the desired silhouette.

I love that the desired silhouette was made by clothing in the old days, nowadays, you have to attempt to make your body itself the desired silhouette.

@Anna Hopewell Please get over yourself. Real Worth gowns, especially from this time period, are too delicate to be worn, so wearing a REPLICA would be an honor. A REPLICA is just that: a piece created to look EXACTLY like the original piece. Without REPLICAS, we would have a poorer understanding of how these pieces were created/went together. The word REPLICA is NOT NEGATIVE. Do everyone a favor and stop projecting YOUR negativity onto others and what they say. :)

I guess you mean Cinderella 2017, but that wasn't meant to be historically accurate, that was supposed to be in the style of a setpiece from the 18th century made in the 1950s and it accomplishes that very well. And this gown is nearly 2 centuries too old for that if we'd go with historical accuracy in a fantasy element movie.

Thank you for uploading this. As a reader of period literature, this video helps me understand how dependent a woman was when required to present herself in such garments. She could not dress without assistance, and once encased in all the undergirdments could not free herself to take rest, short of using knife and scissors. The artifice has visual appeal, but the price is formidable. The period preceding this was much less behaviorally and sartorially confining for women.

My wedding gown was modeled after this style and era of dress. It was lovely and a joy to wear. I wished that I'd had other occasions to wear it as ladies did during this time period. Brides in the 1800s were expected to wear their wedding dress, which would have been their best dress, at formal occasions like balls and social events during their first year of marriage.

It would have been done primarily for very formal events. It’s a much smaller hoop than what was worn in the mid 1850’s-1860’s. Daywear would have created a similar, but less structured look with an extra petticoat or two. A small hoop skirt would actually be much nicer to dance in then the multiple petticoats that would have replaced it.
