It was called base first. They use to buy powder and cook it, but when people started cooking the whole brick and selling it already cooked then they was calling it ready rock cause it was ready and the dealers could just go sell it and not have to cook it. Therefore it was ready. Ready rock

These interviews are amazing!!! I'm a white guy from Utah. My favorite kind of music is rock n roll(with an extremely indie bend... Real indie!!! Sub pop in late 80s, homestead, set, am rep, KRS, Etc). And these interviews fascinate me, so much that I am listening to the music these guys have made!!! I have a new found respect for hip hop! Thank you very much!!!

Dresta was my favorite west coaster when I was growing up in New Orleans. His Lyrical game was so underrated compared to other big time stars back then. I use to take his tapes to school and argue that he was one of the best rappers in the country. His verse on RMGs is still one of my all time favorite verses till this day. Plus that beat is still vicious in 2019.
