Because they don't understand the Catholic faith. The devil will do everything to keep people and souls away from the truth. And the truth is the catholic faith. Eucharistic mircles, marian appriations, if you have demons who are you going to call? Catholic priests etc...who created the Bible? Catholics, which religion was founded by Jesus? Catholic faith...

Excellent talk about John’s Gospel and The Eucharist. Those facts about Judas are really interesting. It’s sad about parishes discouraging people to convert. I had the same experience in a predominantly orthodox country (did not happen to me personally as I wasn’t orthodox - not even baptized - when I converted as an adult almost 30 years ago) when parishes, particularly priests, would try their utmost to persuade orthodox coming and asking to enter into the Church not to do it and literally turned people away. After VII there was an “understanding” between the Catholic and Orthodox churches for (especially after 1991 in former soviet block, that the Catholic Church is not to “proselytize” on “their” “canonical” territory. It was all about ecumenism in the “spirit” of VII. On a side not, it actually shows how inconsistent, ridiculous and I would add even satanic orthodox behavior and claims are about the Catholic Church being heretical and fallen away from the true church, because they would allow all kinds of protestant sects and others to freely preach but forbid the catholics to do so (I can speak for the territory of the former USSR where the Russian Orthodox has majority - in Russia itself that’s particularly horrible.). So the point is if they do not recognize Catholic church why would they invoke the ancient principle of one bishop per city and canonical territory of a local church - whether in the East or the West. It just shows how dishonest and treacherous they are and not faithful to God as they would secretly admit CC being a true church - just like they think theirs is and yet reject it officially and want yo have nothing to do with it. Anyway, I think it’s a terrible and sinful attitude on the part of CC to turn people away when they come on their own volition and goes directly and openly against Christ’s command to teach the Gospel and baptize everywhere in the world. This “spirit” of VII has plagued the Church and we need to do a lot more about it.
